He's definitely going to Junior Worlds. I believe that Angelina Kuchvalska is doing both, so it's very possible that Deniss will go to Senior Worlds too...but I haven't seen any official announcement from the Latvian fed yet.

These gifs are so cute :luv17:

Thanx!! at this point I seriously suspect I was just dreaming, about him going to Boston. I would love to see him twice this month, but honestly it might be too pushing for him to attend a major competition back to back, so close... but well he is so young and willing, if he can take it physically I surely wouldn't complain!!!

I just love that cowlick head :laugh2: and I did find that superman programme a few days ago totally by chance and posted to my facebook account :agree: it must have taken some courage to go out with that costume, but as a born showman he surely rose to the occasion, and perhaps found it amusing himself to wear it :party2:

Looks like Deniss is going to senior worlds on top of juniors. :hap57: I'm very excited for his big debut, but I hope he won't be totally exhausted after JW and YOG. I guess this means he could also feasibly be nominated for the Team Challenge Cup, but I would be surprised if he is.

Good for him and for us to have a chance to see him once more on the biggest stage (Worlds).
The boy is FANTASTIC !!! So cute and down to earth.
Not mentioning his skating: He has his own moves, so original!

I can't wait to see him at senior World! If he makes the FP which I don't think he'll have a lot of trouble doing that.

A new interview with Alexei Urmanov came out. Most of it is about his life and coaching career in Sochi, but at the end he had some nice things to say about his two star students. (Google Translate isn't perfect, but I think you can get the gist.)

https://www.yuga.ru/articles/sport/7384.html

Among your current students you see promising guys who will represent the country at the European championships, the world in the future?

- Today, in my group rides two people who, probably more than stand out. It Lipnitskaya Julia and Deniss Vasiljevs. But I still have athletes who are trying hard and reach for the lead that we have. And let me not offended by those who read it, but we are all born in the competition. Those two athletes, I noted today, is really in front, they are really at the top. And I really want to, and I see that here these two teenager - Lipnitskaya and Vasiljevs, prove to everyone that they are very wealthy skaters.

This Twitter account has some nice practice pics of Deniss from today:

Also some more in the gallery on the JW official website:

The first JW I watched was 2 years ago, and Deniss was one of the skaters who turned me into a real fan of juniors. He was so small and cute, & now he's grown up before my eyes! He really looks mature these days. So far it doesn't seem like puberty is affecting him too badly, though.

I vividly remember 2014 Junior Worlds and my reaction :jaw:  :cool2: :points: to his skating.
