More reasons to hate the way Russian Fed names their skaters to JGP events. Surely Russian Fed knew that Sasha has had an skating accident where he got a lot of stitches to his fingers yet he and Sofia were named at the 1st JGP event. And top of that, with their great wisdom Russian Fed named only one substitute.

Sofia Polishchuk's skating reminds me of Usova and Krylova. Alexander Vakhnov has really impressive deep edges and smooth glides as well as nice leading his partner. I hope they do good at the French JGP although showing their routine at very first would be a hard task for them.

Im so glad they are medalists. I'd like them to win silver in their next event so maybe they could qualify for the finals.

It's quite unlikely, since they have to compete with Parsons, Abachkina/Thauron and Shpilevaya/Smirnov in their next event. They can probably win bronze in case of subpar skates from Shpilevay/Smirnov. But I think even silver could not be enough to qualify for the Final. There are McNmara/Carpenter, Parsons, Loboda/Drozd, Abachkina/Thauron, Carreira/Ponomarenko, Shpilevaya/Smirnov and even Skoptcova/Aleshin. The last two can get bronze and silver, except if S/S beat Abachkina/Thauron at their first event and/or if Skoptcova/Aleshin have to compete both with Parsons and Loboda/Drozd at their last event which is unlikely. If both of those teams get bronze and silver the scores will decide who goes to the GPF. If Polishchuck/Vakhnov win bronze over Shpilevaya/Smirnov, it is likely that Skoptcova/Aleshin will go to the Final again (they have to compete with McNamara/Carpenter and Shpilevaya/Smirnov at their first event which is likely to give them bronze - or silver if they are lucky, and then they most likely will have to compete with Parsons or Loboda/Drozd at their last event which would give them silver if disaster does not happen).

I expect the Russian federation will move them to another JGP if they have any sense.

The only choice is one of the last two events - the one where Skoptcova/Aleshin are not competing, to be more precise. Obviously it's too late to enter them into the next event in Ostrava where their competitors except McNmara/Crapenter would be Kuzmich/Sinycin and Lewis/Bye. They can't be moved to an event where Skoptcova/Aleshin are supposed to compete and where they (S/A) can get silver or to the event where Shpilevay/Smirnov will compete and where they can also get silver. That would not make sense.

I agree, but I heard they were not going to Japan, so they must have another JGP lined up.
But then again, my Russian is limited, so I may have misheard, we shall see!

Must be the event where Shpilevaya/Smirnov and Skoptcova/Aleshin are not competing in that case. That would be sensible.

They are better and more attractive to me then s/a so I'd like to see them get a spot over them. IDK... I hope they can.

I think they improved this season while Skoptcova/Aleshin are typical Kustarova junior students.
