Miriam Ziegler and Severin Kiefer are pairs skaters representing Austria.

Ziegler was born on 19 Mar 1994 in Oberpullendorf, Austria, while Kiefer was born on 11 October 1990 in Kuchl, Austria.

Miriam and Severin Kiefer teamed up in spring 2013 and together the 7-time (2014–16, 2018, 2020-22) national champions. They are also the 2018 CS Tallinn Trophy champions.

Before teaming up with Severin, Miriam was a single skater (she is a two-time Austrian national champion (2009, 2010) and competed at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics). Severin is a six-time Austrian national pairs champion (2011-2013 with Stina Martini, 2014-2016 with Miriam Ziegler) and a three-time national bronze medalist (2012-2014) in men's singles.

They are coached by Knut Schubert and Bruno Massot. Jean F. Ballester, one of their coaches died suddenly in November 2018.

They are indeed very charming and so funny! Both will also compete at Nice, Trophée Eric Bompard and Skate Canada.

If wanted, I might can write a bit more - but it must join the queue now, :)

Yes, if you don't mind, please add it to the queue!

Very exciting they have 2 GP's!

Congrats to Miriam and Severin who smashed their previous personal best LP score today with a score of 99.68- over 4 points over their last personal best! They also have a new personal best total score of 147.22 :cheer: They're going to finish no lower than 5th here against a pretty tough field- they should be proud!

I'm really delighted with their FS at SC! They've improved so much since I last saw them.

Congrats to these two on their SP at Euros! They are in 9th, which isn't their best ever placement here, but they did get a new Personal best by over 2 points which they should be very proud of!

I love this program for them. I was expecting (and hoping!) the score would be higher, but a new PB is certainly a great accomplishment!

I really enjoyed their SP at Euros :) It was nice to see them have a relatively strong skate after what has been a really tough season so far :cheer:

ETA: I also just noticed they smashed their PB SP score by 5 points! Way to go :yahoo:

Yes, what an excellent skate from them! Those SBS spins in particular. Hopefully they can do equally as well in the free!

These two updated their FB page 2 days ago. As always I love their positivity:

We're really happy to have had our best skate of the season last week in Helsinki in front of an enthusiastic and supportive crowd. Naturally we would have loved to also show you our free skate one last time but we're glad to have been part of this amazing pairs competition, which was certainly the best and most competitive we've ever seen.

We would like to thank you for your support throughout this season, all the lovely messages we have gotten and for cheering us on through the tougher times.
Since our season is now over, we are taking a little bit of time off but will soon start working hard again this spring and summer towards the Olympic season and getting our spot in Oberstdorf at Nebelhorn Trophy.

I really do hope they'll be able to get one of the 4 remaining pairs spots at Nebelhorn... with the current quality of the pairs it's going to be tough.

I have just updated their OP. I hope you'll enjoy finding their programs info, videos, results and other stuff in one place.

They may not be the top contenders and the best technicians, but it's such a lovely pair that one cannot but support them and wish them further development, improvement and all the best. I hope this season they will move up in the ranks. They have so many 6th places that I would like them finally win some CS medal (their last medals are from the 2017/2017 season: Cup of Nice and Cup of Tyrol).

Today they skated quite well at Finlandia Trophy and after the SP they are 5th, which isn't bad taking into account how strong the competition at this Challenger is. Good luck tomorrow during the FS!

Not only a medal, but the golden one - 1st place for Miriam and Severin, her first win of the season with new personal best ... the curve of their skills seems to be going steeply upwards!

Bruno Massot is gathering his first important experience as a coach in her team (together with his own and now ex-coach Jean-François Ballester and head coach Knut Schubert from Sportforum Berlin) - whether his tips have borne fruit now? Miriam: "Massot has helped us a lot technically." In terms of the level of competition like triple jumps and side by side elements, the pair has evolved considerably.

Already at the European Championships in January 2018 the basis for the new season could be seen - a fabulous freestyle and an idea of their talents:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dva6IrQbVzE
(annoying: some judges seemed to have something slightly different in mind when awarding points)

A pity that there are (still) no videos from Minsk ... anyway, I'm very happy for all of them, great!

And now the Grand Prix (Helsinki, Nov. 2-4) is on the agenda, where they will compete with the world elite. In the second GP in Canada Vanessa James & Morgan Cipres have now presented a vertiginous program in first place, and the winners of Skate America - Evgenia Tarasova & Vladimir Morozov - are expected to be the direct competitors on the ice (2 weeks later in Moscow). High motivation is ensured!
(only 1 week training time until then ...)
