It's a pity that there are no Austrian fans here ...

What a brilliant freestyle (apart from the Adele-whining), that could have been a podium place - Miriam and Severin have really trained intensively, the new trainer team, led by Knut Schubert, is doing a great job.

But (and that will be remembered above all) ... what a stupid mistake at the last lift a few seconds before the end - what was that about? A common blackout? Incomprehensible ... you could rip out all your hair ... (after that they seemed to be paralysed for a few seconds, the aghast faces of the two says it all)

Now more than ever - see you in Moscow!

So... Austrian fan here :D

I was so glad to see them be assigned to Helsinki, where I was going already anyway.

Their SP was amazing, but my am I sad about that last lift. Sitting in the arena, I first thought that it was on purpose and then when they continued skating looking completely lost I feared for a moment that they had gotten injured. I'm still not entirely sure what happened there - did Severin just not have enough strength left?

Anyway, I loved seeing their progress, I love how soft their skating always looks. What I really DON'T love though is how little support they seem to get - both from the Fed (what Austrian Fed? Do they even exist? They certainly don't feel like it) and general appreciation.
Even with the lift completed they probably wouldn't have landed on the podium which is an absolute shame - they are better now than they've ever been.

Well, sutch a fluff is like a flat tire - it happens when you don't need it: practically always!

"Sponge over it" - original sound Miriam: "We‘ve never been closer to winning a Grand Prix medal and missed our chance in Finland. On the upside: we‘ve never been more motivated to do just that! ... We‘re looking forward to do better at our 2nd Grand Prix in Moscow"
(of course, the goal can not only be beautiful skating, but this golden thing is the motivation and the reputation for the artists everywhere - I only hope that it will also work in the future without supercompetitive circus artistry ...).

The promotion of figure skating is no different in Germany. Since there is little to be expected here, other paths will probably have to be taken. That this can be done has been seen with Aljona and Bruno and their congenial team. Happiness, a strong will and special circumstances are of course also part of it. That makes the story unique. If everything were only dependent on money and this external drill, which you do not impose yourself (as it is practiced in other countries), this beguiling freestyle for the hearts of the people would probably never have happened. I don't want to see any "by hook or by crook." I am hopeful that the genius will seek and find its way.

In this sense: We‘ve never been more motivated to do just that!

In case any of you were curious about the CBC commentary for their GP Helsinki LP, it's at the 14:19 mark (the password is pairs): https://vimeo.com/296555439

Their kiss & cry is at the beginning (the password is pairs): https://vimeo.com/296555474

Their SP wasn't broadcast on Canadian television.

Very strong competition in Moscow ... will it be enough for a podium place? You've been practicing intensively, as we can hear. (Well, almost doesn't matter) ... the main thing is, that your small crowd of fans (which is getting bigger and bigger) can look forward to some magical minutes - like every time !!!

The SP starts at 17:17:30 (CET) - we keep our fingers crossed for you, may everything succeed this time!

Whoa! All the highest difficulties brilliantly mastered, the artistic elements as usual "soft & classic" and beautiful to look at. Such a loverly pair ... (a strange, almost usual mini blackout - this time at the end of the death spiral - is apparently a fixed part of the program)

Today, by the way, with the very good-humoured head coach and the "trainer apprentice" Bruno Massot - great to see him again, and of course super sympathetic as always, what a guy ... Both were to be seen, that they are more than satisfied, their protégés have reached the goal they set themselves: to be among the 5 best (even if the corners of their mouths went down a bit when the points were awarded ... one or the other point would indeed have been possible).

Great anticipation for the freestyle!

Too bad they couldn’t have done that in Helsinki (where their score would have earned silver), but great that things are on the right track.

Well, "Knuti" has to show his strict coach's face, especially when it comes to scoring ... (after all, there should have been a few more points). But this time all four had really many reasons to shine:

Most of all I am happy for Miriam, because otherwise she always seems very disappointed with her self-criticism. But Knut, Jean-François and Bruno exert a very positive influence, it gets better and better ...

The upward trend continues:
ISU CS Tallinn Trophy 2018: 1st place in the SP (Video)
with a new personal best and a flawless performance.
(unfortunately a rather uninspiring event due to the far-reaching absence of spectators)

Congratulations to Miriam, Severin, Knut, Jean-François, Bruno and everyone else in the team for the excellent work in a short time - keep it up!

I've finished watching the recorded Euro Pairs comp at Minsk today. I am very sorry to learn that their long-time coach passed away recently;;; My sincere condolences to their coache's family, Miriam and Severin.

We, the Japanese skating fans look forward to seeing Miriam and Severin in March. However, we will also understand if they feel they are not ready yet and decide not to compete.
I agreed with GoneWithTheWind. Let's wish they can take as much time and care they need first. Let's pray and wait till the time comes and they feel they're fully ready and prepared to compete. Then let's support and cheer for them a lot, shall we. If they show up in Saitama come March, I guarantee they're gonna get 'HUuuuuuge cheers & love' from our J-audience. :)
