If Nadeau keeps skating like this is it possible that he will get sent to JR worlds over Roman? I mean he seems to have the ability to score big scores more than Roman does. That short program score could put him in the hunt for medals at JR worlds!

...but his FS program :slink: Just my naive opinion, of course.

We'll see in the FS. Roman Sadovsky still has the best PB/SB (203.72) with Nadeau considerably lower (184.96).
Also, Sadovsky qualified for the final (for the 2nd time) which is a boost.

Sadovsky generally is the more consistent competitor - at JWC 2015 Sadovsky placed 14th, whereas Nadeau placed 25th in the SP (did not QF for FS) - both placements were a disappointment, though...

About Sadovsky/Nadeau.

If Nadeau skates a good FS here then I can see nationals being a skate off.

Nadeau has a huge disadvantage at nationals as he is guaranteed not to be in the last flight for the short program. Last flight will be Chan, Balde, Messing , Sadovsky , Firus ( no GP but medal at last Canadians guarantees him a bye ) , Nam. And that is in order.

It is about selecting the guy most likely to secure the most potential to maximize JGP slots next year.

I would discount last year's JW results as Nadeau has improved significantly since then.

Yes - it does seem like Nadeau has really improved (at least in the short program) while Sadovsky it standing still. Nadeau does still have to prove himself capable of skating two good programs back to back. But with this score he would be skating in the final group at worlds in the free where Sadovski is struggling to get into the top 10. And even with the new system your marks still seem to be better when you are skating in the final group.
