Lipea, thank you so much! and am sorry I didn't realize there's already a thread about this.
It's a great relief to know that I can wish the best for both Wakaba and Marin! (Well, on the premise that if both do well, Wakaba will likely to win, though.)

I completely understand that people prefer Marin's sophisticated performance, but Wakaba got something that makes me really want to root for her. It's more about her character and how it comes through in her program, I think.

Let's do this, Wakaba!!

No problem. I also prefer Wakaba among the Japanese ladies, but at the same time I think that Alisa really deserved the final, so my desired podium (Wakaba, Diana, Paige) is unrealistic.

Pity she doubled that flip. Otherwise it was beautiful. It was funny to see how Russian fans were cheering for her (of course, they want Alisa to get to the final, and if Marin wins then Alisa is in).

Even with the double flip, that is the best sub 60 score I have ever seen by Marin Honda. No matter what her score was worth a lot more to me. I love watching her skate. The announcer even created a new phrase, "charmingly excellent" to describe it.

Do you really think the few people there have done the math? Maybe they just enjoyed her skating.
At least I hope so. To be patriotic is ok, but I would cheer for Marin no matter from wich country I am hwell: because she is just a gorgeous skater.

Yeah, I thought Marin was underscored, too, esp on PCS, would've expected about 60 points for that skate. Same with Paige, I thought she'd be closer to 50, even with the fall and UR. Who is the judging panel here?
