Thank you for this thread!

Other current students include Alexander Petrov: http://www.goldenskate.com/forum/showthread.php?55519-Alexander-Petrov and Elizaveta Nugumanova (not coached directly by him, IIRC, but part of his group): http://www.goldenskate.com/forum/showthread.php?54470-Elizaveta-Nugumanova

And of course, no list of former students is complete without Alexei Yagudin :)p): http://www.goldenskate.com/forum/showthread.php?39933-Alexei-Yagudin

No Fan Fest here, but Olympic champion Alexei Urmanov definitely deserves a mention. I'll just leave his Swan Lake performance here. (Yes, it was a great skate, regardless of the outfit!)

Yay, a thread that is long overdue! It's impossible to imagine Russian skating, particularly Russian men's skating, as we know it today without him.

I have a cute video to share, but never had quite the right place to do so - a visit to Mishin's dacha. You get to see him chasing ducks at the beginning. :laugh2: I would love it if someone could translate.

Thanks for all the fantastic links, I will also add them to the original post!

I know - I was too; and so surprised, as I'd never heard him speak English before.

Mishin was a guest on a talk show this summer.

[email protected] kindly provided a translation toward the bottom of this page.

Also, he doesn't have a fanfest, but Artur Dmitriev Jr. is also a student of Mishin's to add to the list. He doesn't look too bad this season, although he hasn't competed yet internationally. Looks like he will be at the Ice Challenge in Austria in a couple weeks.
