Ladies compete for representation at Europeans. Joshi and Isabelle are already in. I'm not sure, but I think the third spot will be between Matilda and Linnea. Some juniors too perhaps, but maybe they are not old enough. Anyone who has an idea... predictions?

Swedish Championships starts now ……in case someone wants to watch little Swedish girls instead of the world’s top junior ladies Anyway I think Selma Ihr(11 years old), starting last, is promising for the future.

The girls are followed by the boys and then the junior ladies.

Sasha will be at nationals replacing his dad as a coach of two juniors: his brother Nikolaj and Emilia Granqvist. Good luck to all three!

The result page doesn't seem to be up, but I saw the ladies short program and the top standings are:

I dont remember the exact scores, but Joshi had 62 something, Isabelle 54 something Algotsson around 48 (I think) with Mellgren and Hallberg close behind.

I missed the men but saw RM girls (pre-novice?). Selma Ihr is indeed very promising! She did 4 triples, 3 clean when most of the girls weren't even doing 2a.

Anastasia Schneider had some small mistakes at the beginning but then skated very well. Anita Östlund had a more ambitious program though, with 3-3 combos, 3 flip and planned (but doubled) 3 lutz, and there's also Mathilda Algotsson, so it will be interesting to see who gets to go to junior worlds. Whoever gets it I hope they place well, Sweden needs plenty jgp spots.

Anastasias coach, Cecilia Willberg seems to be training a small army of talented skaters for Sweden, Anastasia, Selma Ihr, Ilya Solomin, Mathilda Algotsson and a whole bunch more. They all seem to have good basics and interesting programs, very nice to see.

Fun to see Anita going for the lutz combination in both short and free and trying other hard tech. It didn’t work this time but LOL you can see she likes to jump. Anastasia is my favorite performer among the younger ones. Really solid enjoyable skate when she was done with her small mistakes. Congrats also to Cassandra who managed a bronze after being 5th in the short.

Shout out to Gabriel Folkesson who won boys(10-15)! Also solid with a great flow.


Yes, Cecilia is impressive. Overall I admire those coaches having lots of adepts in their clubs; training them, making choreography and supporting them at competitions. Like Helgesson/Jensen in Tibro, Andrea Dohany(former coach of Kristoffer Berntsson, also coaching synchro team Surprise) in Landvetter, Majorov sr with wife Irina in Luleå… etc lots of others not named. Can’t imagine the challenge: not just helping with the sport but also helping to cope with disappointments and other things that happen in life. Kudos to coaches all over the world who work with a passion on the lower levels.

I missed most of the senior LP and only saw Isabelle and Joshi. Neither hade a great skate, but Joshi at least went for the trippels and sold her program. I'm sorry to have missed Matilda Algotsson, she was second in the freeskate so she must have skated well. I guess she gets the third euros spot

Not really. Matilda did lots of mistakes on jumps and a fall. Isabelle, Matilda and Linnea are all really inconsistent. Linnea looked so nervous. I felt sorry for her failing her combos. I know she can do so much better

Ondrej simply the best man... went for the triple axel(-3)… next time! Good to see him skate strong after his injuries and pain. So happy for him. A great substitute if Alexander is not in form.

Congrats to all medalists and everyone for fighting well!

Euros and Nordics spots will be released on Tuesday and Thursday.
