I can see Chock/Bates having the lead in the short with Weaver/Poje in second and the Shibutanis in third and the reverse order in the free dance. With the final result being the S/S 1st, C/B 2nd and W/P 3rd.
In a way I will be Ok with this since I think winning the GPF last year was what set W/P for 3rd at worlds. If they end up 3rd here they may go home and work so hard they will blow the others away come worlds.

For my own personal fandom, I want the Shibs to win. I think if Weav/Po, Chock/Bates, or even Bobrova/Soloviev and Cappellini/Lanotte lose here, they have had enough validation from the judges in the recent past to know they'll be ok going forth this season and will be motivated to fight harder. I think the Shibs need the validation more than the other teams at the moment, just because it has been a very long time since they seemed to be in favor and were seen as stagnating or regressing in the past four seasons. I think they need a win just so they know they are actual contenders and not just a buffer team separating the top contenders from the lower top ten. Of course, I'm sure they'll be fine if they lose the title, and will continue to fight. However, I would hate for them to lose out on a medal like last season and lose steam again, and despite everything, I know it must have felt great receiving those high scores (100+ and then some) for the FD so early in the season. Of course, this is assuming they skate just as well or even better than Skate Canada/NHK and the other teams skate similarly to their earlier competitions this season.

Hmmm, you're basing these on the GP Series results. Of course, that's a plausible assumption! However, we haven't seen C/B's programs after the CoC and, I think, Igor's must have reworked their programs to improve their technical levels. Igor has a lot to prove because of the Marina debacle. I am optimistic this GPF competition will have some surprises that's totally unexpected reminiscent of the 2015 World Ice Dancing Competition. The FD programs this season are just phenomenal and so varied. I think, if the technical levels will be so close, the final outcome will be surprisingly different. W/P's and the Shibs' program are so similar choreographically _ Peter Tchernyshev's hand so clearly seen on every detail of each program; C/L's - nothing really standout - just your typical beautiful Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers-inspired program; and C/B _ I'd say theirs is Igor's baby - he chose their music and he also once choreographed a program for this piece with a Lithuan Dance team - he's obsessed with this piece. Well, it's just a theory, (LOL) :scratch3:, but seems true. I am just a huge C/B fan exploring some possibilities :palmf:.

Just read this article http://web.icenetwork.com/news/2015/12/09/159221810 _ a fascinating read, I think.

Ok, I LOVE Cappellini/Lanotte's FD this season. They, out of all the teams, do the most actual dancing. Yes, it's similar to their other FDs, but the difference here is that while I didn't feel that strongly about the other FDs (they were cute and cheeky, but nothing deeper than that), for some reason, I feel really strongly about this one. I think it goes a bit beyond their surface level cuteness and actually has some depth to it. Maybe it's because I think it has a much more mature look to it than the others and think they both look really good (Anna's whole look is stunning in the FD). I also think they've grown immensely as performers and I love the way Luca sells the program like a world champion and expertly presents her the way a great partner should without losing the attention on himself in the process. I think that's expert execution, though he does the look straight at the judges thing one or two times too many.

My favorite part of the dance is the end from the final lift to the choreographed step sequence. To me, that's dancing, and it's not easy or simple to create and then produce well.

what makes people think C&B will win their FD is horrible this year, W&P will win all the way here.

he did a poor job this year, the lifts he gave them for the fd are basic and weak and Evan just looks out of place skating to classical music this team is better suited for old school american classics like american in paris and doctor zhivago, anyway i predict they won`t even be on the podium i have W&P for gold followed by C&L(good program this year and the tech specialist here is italian and bronze to the shibs who have a good fd even though i can`t stand fix you or cold play.

W/P is a solid winner, IMO. But, I am not sure from silver to pewter. C/L, Shibs, C/B are going to be really close. It can be anyone's game. Hopefully everyone skate clean and be judged fair and square!

The season is still going on, there was a good break between CoC and GPF, and I doubt Igor and C/B were sitting idly by. There's a reason why they went up to second in the World last season with high levels. Their PCS is still high even with the low TES. I prefer the other teams, but it's hard to shake what happened last season.
