So, I'm assuming that at least one of Manta/Johnson programs is done - and the run throughs are apparently going well!

(BTW, I'm not assuming any of Joe's political beliefs by the gifs he used, but maybe #HesWithHer.)

So, is Christopher Dean their choreographer and/or their coach? I think Karina and Joe are the type that could pull of the kind of innovative/interesting programs that I felt Dean has wanted to create.

In the meantime, I guess Joe can also succeed at finding Pokemons with his bromies!

I don't know if this was from a recent show, but Joe and Karina posted some interesting pictures of some of their lifts.

They are one REALLY tall person.
Raise your hand!

99% sure that it was a private show earlier this month at the World Arena.

(I've come across other Colorado Springs skaters in a few other Instagrams that seem to be from the same show.)

Yes, Christopher Dean was a choreographer for Karina and Joe last season (2015-16). (Don't know whether they go further back than that.)
And going into the new season, Dean's tweets have called them one of his teams.

Wonder whether Karina/Joe are entered in the international comp at Lake Placid this year.

They are not on the roster for the non-international comp this year.

In the non-international comp last year, they won the SD and placed second in the FD.

Good Luck to Karina and Joe! I hope that they place well given the field - it's interesting that Adria Diaz (Spain) has a new partner (Olivia Smart), though.

Manta/Johnson super cute and charming, lots of little goofs but nothing major, adore their no-touch step choreo. 52.36 #LPIDC16

Karina and Joe placed sixth in the SD, barely a point behind Biechler/Dodge, who are in fourth place.
Karina/Joe: TES 28.69 + PCS 24.67 - 1.00 deduction.
Their PCS was higher than Bent/Razgulajevs, who are in fifth place.

Manta/Johnson tons of neat choreographic elements, but they look uncertain. 80.69/133.05 1st yay! #LPIDC16

Karina and Joe placed fourth in the FD. :)

They placed sixth overall. (Only 0.15 behind Bent/Razgulajevs in fourth, and 0.12 behind Biechler/Dodge in fifth.) :)

Thanks for posting the video! Overall, I think this is a good start to the season. I do hope that they become more confident and work on their speed across the ice. I do believe that if they score this internationally, it would give them the minimum TES. I'm looking forward to them improving, but I don't think they will even get to go to 4CCs until at least 2018.)

I believe scores from the International event at Lake Placid can be used for ISU minimums. At least that's the impression I got from the event's web page.

Thanks - I didn't know whether Lake Placid would be considered a qualified international event by ISU standards.

They were 7th at 2016 Nationals - I think they continue to improve each season, they could get selected to 2018 4CCs. I'm assuming that whoever makes Olympic team would probably not be going.

Enjoyed Karina and Joe's SD today. They improved points wise from last year's Nationals but are in the same 7th place. I'm not sure how realistically they can move up.

I think their skating skills have improved but they have some work to do in that area. It's too bad there are any "B" level international assignments for the spring for those who won't be able to compete at 4CCs/Worlds. Just 1-3 competitions would be nice to have.

Proud of Karina and Joe this weekend! They scored higher at this Nationals than last year even though they slipped to 8th (They finished 7th in both the SD and FD, though).

Hopefully, they will continue to improve - with the help of Christopher Dean. :)
