Sadly Popova / Mozgov got only one GP event and because of that it is likely that they will get the last Rostelecom spot as a 2nd GP event. Well, P/M would make a lot better choice than Morozov / Bagin. It is still possible that P/M could get a 2nd GP event on their own if there will be a few WDs but if not then S/S changes to get GP event is rather low even if they would skate well at early Challenger events.

Popova and Mozgov are first on the sub list. They could easily get a second event when/if someone withdraws.

There's nothing easy about it. In dance, not very many teams withdraw; and when they do, the invites as often go to teams at the bottom of the sub list as to teams at the top. (Rostelecom being notorious for this, they don't have a very good argument for getting P&M in elsewhere, unless another Russian team were to withdraw). Japan usually takes the team at the top regardless of nationality. If P&M are still on the list and NHK has a spot, they would probably give it to Popova & Mozgov. But . . . chances are pretty high Rostelecom will have to name their 3rd host team first).

Congrats on the great GP performance. They were so ready and looked so good and free on the ice.

Well I like these two quite a bit. They have a very unusual look and presence on the ice: a kind of low rent sexiness, with just a hint of the tawdry. Love it. Also absolutely love the way they flirt with the audience and the judges (though they toned it down considerably for Russian Nats). Style is such a difficult thing to create, and they have the real beginnings of one. Which means, of course, they'll come back next season doing a Golden Waltz for their FD! ;)
