Artur Arturovich Dmitriev (Russian: Артур Артурович Дмитриев, born 7 September 1992 in Saint Petersburg, Russia) is a US figure skater. He previously represented Russia. He is the winner of the 2016 Senior Men's Russian Cup Final, the 2015 Challengers Series Ice Challenge champion, and the 2014 Cup of Nice silver medalist. Artur's father, Artur Dmitriev Sr., twice won the Olympic gold medal in pairs, in 1992 with Natalia Mishketunok, and in 1998 with Oksana Kazakova. Artur's mother is World champion rhythmic gymnast, Tatiana Druchinina.

Artur was the first ever to attempt a quadruple Axel in competition. Even though it was severely underrotated, it was a brave attempt!

Dmitriev did not compete in the 2019-2020 or 2020-2021 seasons.

I noticed that he doesn't have a thread yet. He was only 10th at the Russian nationals but his PB from 2015 Ice Challenge is very good - 247 points. At the 2016 Russian Cup Final, he scored 255.11 points.

Russian skater Artur Dmitriev, Jr. , who plays in the men's figure skating, aims to make a quadruple axel, and if he succeeds the first in the world, he would eclipse his father, two-time Olympic champion in pair skating Artur Dmitriev Sr., said the agency "F-Sport" coach Dmitriev, Jr. Alexei Mishin .

Dmitriev Sr. won Olympic gold in 1992 and 1998. Dmitriev, Jr., who is the champion of Russia in 2011 junior national championship on December 10 took place, but won the final of the Cup of Russia, which took place in Saransk in February.

"Arthur aims to perform a quadruple axel - said Mishin on the phone -. I had a conversation with him The fact that his father -. The only Olympic champion, who twice won the gold of the Games with two different female partners (in 1992 . Natalia Mishkutenok, in 1998 - with Oksana Kazakova) I told him (Dmitriev, Jr.) say: "If you do the first quadruple axel, you overshadow his great dad."

In training Dmitriev has played axel in 4.5 turns, but with blots. The interlocutor of the agency did not specify when the skater will be included in the program of this element.

"Archimedes' principle, the law of gravity ... Their findings are not planned, they happen when the story gets ready for their perception and quadruple axel -. The event of the same semantic number He was very encouraging attempts to do it," - said the coach.

"The competitive season is over for Arthur, he spent it well, but reached a still lower than they would otherwise," - concluded Mishin.

It can't be easy for him being the son of Dmitriev senior. He probably feels a lot of pressure trying to beat or equal his father at something. He is 24 now and doesn't have much more time to make it internationally which I think will be difficult, quad Axel or not.

2 GP spots for Artur was great news.
By the way, CoR will be his GP debut. His 2nd GP event of the season is Trophée de France.

I fixed the error at the OP although it wasn't me who wrote that part of the OP.

Does anyone know if Artur has Insta? I am too lazy to try to find it out myself.

He has been training with his father's skaters in Moscow. I don't know if this is just temporary or permanent. According to reports, he wasn't training with a partner.

He left Mishin much earlier than May. But it became official only in May. For a significant part of last season, Artur was training in Moscow at his father's rink, not in St Petersburg with Mishin.

His mother, Tatiana Druchinina (who was the one who accompanied him to TdF) has also moved to Moscow now. She left Moskvina's group and joined Mozer's group.
