No Terry Gannon for any of Worlds? :sad21:

That must be a reason like he is busy for the forthcoming Rio Olympics.
Tom Hammond will be there anyway. I've liked his roles whenever he covers figure skating.

Snippet of Press Release from USFS:

NBC will broadcast live primetime coverage from 9-11 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 2, followed by an encore presentation from 3-6 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 10. NBC’s live primetime broadcast team features 1998 Olympic champion Tara Lipinski, three-time U.S. champion Johnny Weir, play-by-play announcer Tom Hammond and reporter Andrea Joyce. 2006 Olympic ice dance silver medalist Tanith White will contribute to the encore show April 10. Weir, Lipinski and Hammond will also handle live coverage on NBCSN from 9-11 p.m. ET on Friday, April 1.

NBCSN and Universal HD will broadcast additional live and encore coverage of the 2016 World Championships, beginning Wednesday, March 30, with the short dance from noon-3:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Calling the action for NBCSN will be 1988 Olympic ice dace bronze medalist Tracy Wilson, alongside 2006 Olympic ice dance silver medalist Ben Agosto and 2011 U.S. champion Ryan Bradley.

Icenetwork will stream live coverage of the World Championships to Season Pass subscribers. Mike Mancuso will handle the play-by-play duties and will be joined by 2014 Olympic ice dance champion Charlie White, three-time U.S. champion Michael Weiss, two-time U.S. pairs champion John Coughlin and U.S. silver medalist Tonia Kwiatkowski. In addition, icenetwork will provide free behind-the-scenes video to all registered users beginning Wednesday, March 30. This coverage will include live segments from the icenetwork ICE Desk, interviews, press conferences and more. Tanith White will serve as host of the ICE Desk, where she will be joined by Charlie White, Coughlin, Weiss, YouTube personality Michael Buckley and special guests. Icenetwork will also feature news, photos and more.

According to their schedule it seems Italian TV (RAI sport 1 and 2 ) will broadcast a lot of the competition live (probably skipping just the earliest groups). Usually it is geoblocked, but it's not too difficult to work around it (unlike the ISU stream that drives me crazy and sometimes decides to not let me see even the competitions I am allowed to see, but that's another story). Commentators are really annoying, but usually shut up or just call the elements during the performances so I usually prefer them over Tarasova (who is definitely entertaining, but 1) I can't really understand 2)sometimes never stops talking)

YES! Thank you!!! That's more like it.
IIRC I have watched the RAI streams before without any problems, plus, my Italian is just good enough to sort of understand what they're saying.
Finally a real good shot at seeing those later groups during the dead of night.

But I don't understand the first thing about how the broadcasting rights work in Europe. How come RAI have the right to air so much live, even during the nights, when Eurosport also has the rights to Worlds?
And if RAI have them... what other channels in other European countries have similar arrangements? ;-)

Off topic for this TV/streaming thread, but:

Lynn Rutherford will be there too, presumably for IN's print reporting as well. (And I don't know who else.)

Actually, the time zone is -3. Is a tv channel or livestream?

Honestly I have no idea how the whole TV rights thing works! But I have to say that in more than one occasion the RAI streamings have been lifesavers (although if possible I prefer watching on Eurosport), like last GPF when my local Eurosport chose not to broadcast live the Men's FS (of all things!)

I am so sorry. I've been avoiding huge swathes of the forum because I stopped watching Junior Worlds after the Pairs Free. And I don't want to hear any results of the segments that I have still to watch.

And because of that, I forgot all about doing this! :drama: :slink:

A real mixed bag this week. With it being in America, it means that most of the competitions are at night in Europe. Consequently, Eurosport is not showing any LIVE coverage of the second segment that is being held each day.

Eurosport Italia has the most coverage of all the Eurosport versions. But, that does not mean that they are showing LIVE coverage of everything.

The Men’s SP is not being shown LIVE, but there will be a number of highlights programmes for it. There is LIVE coverage of the Shorts for the other categories, though.

With the Free Skates, only the Pairs are getting LIVE coverage. However, there will be highlights programmes for the other categories.

Perhaps surprisingly given the lack of LIVE coverage of the Free Skates, most of the versions of Eurosport are showing the Gala LIVE. Although, some of them will be joining it late due to showing other things.

Eurosport Hungary is joining the Gala half an hour late. The only other difference to Italy is that they are not showing any Gala highlights on Monday.

Eurosport Nederland is starting the LIVE coverage of the Pairs Short an hour late, and are NOT showing any LIVE coverage of the Pairs Free. Otherwise, the only differences to Italy are that they are not showing some of the highlights programmes.

Eurosport Deutschland is NOT showing any LIVE coverage of the Gala. They are also not showing a lot of the highlights programmes.

Eurosport France and British Eurosport are not showing a lot of the highlights programmes either. But, in terms of the LIVE coverage, it is the same as in Italy

There is NO coverage at all on the British Eurosport Player. :disapp:

Apologies again for the late posting.

I'm sure that Eurosport is not the only broadcaster with rights to show Worlds. In Poland we have quite good coverage (I think the same as Eurosport Hungary) on Eurosport and also live coverage on TVP1 and TVP Sport (both channels owned by our national public broadcaster).

That sounds similar to what's going on in Italy, RAI being its national public broadcasting co.
Hoping for any more such arrangements, the more the merrier, especially if they offer streams.

The BBC is showing a huge amount live including the free skates from start to finish.
They always seem to have amazing coverage when the Worlds are in North America.

Specifically, which channel(s) and/or streams, or behind the red button, or...? :confused2:

Next Sunday at 15.30-17.00 on BBC Two there is a highlights show.
That's cool, but I'm not gonna wait for that. ;)
Actually, I'm kind of still hoping for the Dutch NOS to suddenly spring a surprise on me, too.
