A lovely story in today's Asahi Shimbun about Kaori Sakamoto and Mai Mihara. They are the same age and are training mates as well as close friends. They have both suffered setbacks. Kaori missed Mai badly when Mai was hospitalized, while Mai cheered her on from her hospital bed. Kaori herself suffered a stress fracture in her right calf shortly before Mai was diagnosed. Kaori enjoys craft work and made Mai an origami gold medal, which Mai carries with her everywhere. When Mai rebounded from 15th after the SP to 5th at Worlds, Kaori sent her more than 10 messages: "That was awesome!", "I'm so impressed", "I cried and cried (so happy for you)". Lovely friendship between two teenage girls who are direct rivals this season :luv17:.

Kozuka did a complete copy of Mao's step sequence in "Bell of Moscow." Pretty damn cool!
