There are very few skaters I can honestly say I loved at first sight, but Georgy is definitely in that category. His style is completely unique and I think he has a very bright future. I know he's not well known yet, but he will be!

Also loved him at first sight :luv17: I always think this little skater has an enigmatic aura around him.
According to some Russian sekret source, he was clean at the test skate. Hopefully he'll amaze global viewers at JGP Ljubljana!

Georgy skated at the Moscow Open Cup for juniors this weekend, and climbed from 10th place in the SP to 2nd place after the FS (just after Samarin). Quite impressive! I have no idea if Mikhail Sharov will upload his videos, but so far nothing has appeared. Georgy has also gotten a second JGP assignment for Germany.

A cute photo from the junior test skates:

Yes, it's the same LP. I'm ok with that because it's one of my favorite programs of any junior or senior skater.

Interesting comparisons, Plushenko and Weir. I hope he can develop Plushenko's consistency and strong jump technique...artistry-wise, yes, I can see a little bit of Johnny. But overall I find his style to be unique. I've never seen a skater with arms like his.

This costume from his previous LP seemed a little bit inspired by Johnny. :) I think this was the first program I ever saw from him.

Unfortunately it looks like Georgy will be out of competition for awhile...he fractured his leg in practice today. Not that I wish for anyone to get injured, but why does it have to be him? I was so looking forward to his debut. :sad4::cry:

http://www.fsrussia.ru/news/2343-ro...smozhet-vystupit-v-saranske-iz-za-travmy.html

Russian figure skater George Marten will not be able to participate in the fourth stage of the Junior Grand Prix in Saransk.

Today at the morning training athlete seriously injured. After further examination of the city hospital, where the skater was taken from the ice rink, doctors diagnosed a fracture of the left leg.

Today, George Marten, together with the coach will go back to Moscow.

"The case of an unpleasant, especially since George debutant Grand Prix. I know that he really wanted to perform at these competitions, tried very hard. We wish him a speedy recovery! Looking forward to it!" - Commented the head coach of the junior national team Galina Golubkov.

Thus, at the stage of the Grand Prix "Mordovia Cup" Russia will be represented by two athletes in the men's figure skating - Bean Goose, Peter and Alexander Samarin.

edit - beautiful photo of Georgy, and the author is right - he is a little prince!

I'm very happy to finally have a chance to update this thread! Georgy has returned to competition at the Moscow Qualifiers for Nationals Elder Age. He scored 63.36 and is in 12th place, but only a bit over 7 points away from 1st. He had a random unfortunate fall and a UR call on his 3Lz-3T, but considering how long it's been since he competed, I think it's a good start for a comeback.

He has a new SP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6Th4VsDgIc

When I first saw him, I thought he was channeling a young John Curry in that costume! I'm not sure about the music, but his artistry is incredible for someone who just turned 14. It will be a real pity if he has to miss out on another JGP season...he is really special.
