Elena Sokolova is a Russian skater, now retired. 2003 Worlds Silver Medalist, 3 time European medalist and a 3 time Russian Nationals champion. After Dick Buttons made a comment about her during a performance ("She's an awfully cute gal, a 'Cupcake', but this program is not working for her"), she was forever given the nickname 'Cupcake' on the internet by fans (and Uncle Dickie admitted being a tad embarrassed by his unintended moniker-making). Here are two videos of her performances 9 years apart: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=strwoRTSAmQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzZTPSgiRG8 and two pictures of her: http://www.oocities.org/colosseum/bench/7280/9744531.jpg http://icestars.narod.ru/sokolova/rus-nat06-6.jpg

Before the emergence of Eteri's wunderteam and its domination at the international ice rinks there was a time back in the 90s and 00s when we could enjoy watching such skaters as Maria Butyrskaya, Irina Slutskaya, Victoria Volchkova, Olga Makarova or Elena Sokolova. I feel great sympathy for all of them and remember with a broad smile on my face some of their competitions. That's why I thought a Worlds silver and a three-time Europeans medalist deserved a detailed summary of her long and quite impressive career. I've included in the OP all the information I could find: the results table, programs and the videos so that all the fans have all the details in one place. Enjoy :)
