This is a new pair. She used to skate with Stepan Korotkov with whom she made it to the JGP final last season. Anyway, their FS at the 3rd stage of Russian Cup was very good today and I think they deserve a thread here.

They were only 3rd at the Russian-Chinese youth winter games and it sounds like he might have dropped her on FS. That quote is google translated, so, it might not be accurate.

Claim victory and a pair Anastasia Poluyanova / Maxim Selkin. They were in the lead after the short program. But partner at the time of any program perenervnichal, fell twice and dropped his partner. "He rode not himself, as if on padded feet, - commented on the performance of the head of the delegation of Russian skaters Leonid Khachaturov. - But guys excusable: they first appear abroad, and with such acclimatization. And China has a very good pair. " As a result, Maxim and Nastya finished third.

So, according to rumors this team has split up since apparently Poluianova has teamed up with Sopot. Hopefully Maksim will find a new partner because he is pretty good, rather tall and he still has two junior eligible seasons left. Borisova would be available obviously but he could find a partner with better jumps if he would be willing to move to Moscow or to Saint Petersburg.

According to rumors Selkin is currently skating with Borisova but they haven't officially teamed up yet.

Well, we will know soon enough because Russian skaters have to report by end of May who the partner and the coach are. Or was it end of june? There is some meeting within federation when they approve the changes.

It seems that this indeed was just a temporary thing because according to rumors Selkin is now skating with Tatiana Lyirova.

This is already commonly known but I will mention it anyway that Selkin will skate with Anastasia Melnikova this season.

It may be worth noticing that Melnikova will be his 4th partner since he split up with Panfilova. Last season he skated with Lyirova, the season before that with Poluianova and the season before that with Panfilova with whom he skated two seasons.

I don't know why he split up with Panfilova but ironically he most likely would skate JGP events this season if he would have stayed with her. However, it would be easy to see why he might have wanted to split up with her and that is because she didn't even have 2A at the time.

Selkin split up with Panfilova because he was ready to compete at JGP and she wasn’t. Not sure if she was too young or if the coaches decided that with more experienced partner (Poluyanova) they had a chance to make a stronger team.

The season after that Sopot and Poluyanova wanted to skate together (she was his girlfriend at that time) so that’s way Poluyanova/Selkin split up. Selkin got Lyirova, but she wasn’t a particularly strong skater. To be fair, Selkin is not completely consistent with his jumps either, although he is not a complete disaster.

I think it was a mistake to split Panfilova/Selkin. It did get him at JGP a season earlier than she did, but then he didn’t compete at the following JGP season when she did. If they stayed together, they wouldn’t have lost time with the changes (Panfilova lost a season starting with Rylov and Selkin wasted time getting used to three different partners, and with Lyirova they didn’t even get JGP). By now they could have been great with Panfilova.

Anastasia Mel'nikova/Maksim Selkin are in the 2nd place but at the same at the last place) https://www.fsrussia.ru/results/1819/2etap/CAT008RS.HTM
THe only other pair that competed is Nadezhda Labazina/Nikita Rahmanin
SP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBnA9uQ7ADk Both had mistakes during a jump.
FS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXJkxWDeC0I Nice costmes for The Phantom of the Opera. Nastya jumpedwell while Maksim fell and double footed.

Yeah, Nastia is a better jumper than I remembered. Selkin jumped like Britkov did a few years ago.

By the way, this looked potentially dangerous. Luckily she wasn't hurt.
