I'm starting the thread to share good news
Thanks to GP moving to Europe there is finally a good coverage of events on Eurosport 1 & 2 Most events will be live

yeah, until they change it...

For the past 2 GP’s, I have waited until the listings for the streaming channels to become available. And, consequently, my Eurosport listings post has ended up not being on the first page.

So, I am taking a different approach this week. To claim a place near the top (into which I can later paste the listings), I have decided to post something useful.

The main problem this season is that the TV schedule page on the Eurosport websites have been re-designed. The old pages were great because they gave listings for the past 7 days, today and the next 14 days. But the new pages don’t do anywhere near that many days.

Now, you have to go to 2 different sites – the Eurosport website, and the Eurosport Player website.

So, to make things easier, I have made out a table with all the links you need to work out the figure skating schedule:


Eurosport Asia and Eurosport Australia both still have the old TV listings page as well as the new one:

Unfortunately, these two regions don’t have Eurosport 2. And they do not show Figure Skating! :disapp:

But, one good thing with these versions still having the old pages was that I was able to access the drop down menu listing which version was distributed to each country. And that formed the basis of the country column of my table.

I should explain the gaps. Eurosport Polska’s website is a joint venture with Polish website Onet. So, it does not follow the same format as the other Eurosport websites.

I have no idea what is going on, but any time I have tried to access the Hungarian version of the Eurosport Player website the past few days, I have been getting an “Invalid URL” message.

And whenever I tried to access the Bulgarian, Portuguese, Serbian and Turkish versions of Eurosport Player via the logical addresses, I have been getting “website not found” messages.

I did manage to get into the Russian Eurosport Player website. But, whenever I tried to click into the TV Schedule page, it re-directed me to the British Eurosport site. So, I couldn’t test out the search facility.

So, if anybody in these countries could let me know if they have a local Eurosport Player, and what the address for the TV Guide on it is, I would really appreciate it.

By the way, I just updated my Skate Canada Schedule post to include the repeats being shown between now and Friday. And having this table made it so much easier!

Why did I never think of making one out before?!

You can watch on sportbox.ru directly. They have videos of every competition. – Just in case it's not the Eurosport coverage you're after

Sportbox links. Once again, about sportbox. Starting last year they stopped to do their unique footage - now they merged into Match holding. So sportbox has the same stream as shown on Match TV. One can watch live or not: they keep programs for about a month. There are 3 types of quality: low, standard, and HD. The first 2 are free of charge. HD costs 100, 249, or 549 rbls. per month depending on the number of streams or videos ($1.5, $4, or $9)

For Canadians CBC seems to be showing the entire event live (both SP and LP) on their website. I wonder if we will get the IN commentators again.

IN does not offer commentary for GPs -- except for Skate America.

But the real reason for my reply is to say that I love the photo of your sweet dog :luv17:.
Enjoyed your comments in the Skate Canada threads about caring for him (I think he's a him?) with nutritious homemade food .

Thanks. Yes, that's Elias and he's a boy. I took that photo of him from my desk while he was begging for the cookie I was eating. Left to his own devises he'd eat like a fratboy. He'll even drink beer if you leave it unattended (and by that I mean he'll pick up the can and chug it) and steal coffee if it has cream and sugar.

I actually prefer to be without commentary. Then I can listen to the music and the sound of the blades on the ice.

... And I forgot to mention, that ISU (not geoblocked in Europe, blocked at least in USA, CAN and JPN) has videos of the competion, too. But it can take a while, until they put them up. Plus sometimes not labeled correctly as e.g. for Skate Canada Men's competion as Ice Dance – but you can tell.

Thanks for the info! I'll keep them in mind since CBC hasn't always been reliable in the past.

Free program of pairs and ladies will be streamed on sport.tvp.pl . It's very high resolution stream. I don't think it's geoblocked or anything

For the US viewers, apparently NBC is not showing Rostelecom nor Trophee de France until Thanksgiving weekend. Universal HD and NBCSN will be showing most of the competition, though.

I had a similar question....ice coverage responded on another thread that IN has only, to date, done commentary on Skate America, US Nationals, and Worlds...

I also replied earlier in this thread to ancientpeas , but lest any doubt remain, here is a tweet from the horse's mouth re GPs:


And lest confusion arise down the road, I feel the need to repeat that IN typically does not/not/not offer commentary for Worlds.
As I said in the other thread, IN commentary for 2016 Worlds was an exception because they were in Boston, hosted by USFS.

Spanish public tv will be broadcasting the SP live and then will make a repeat at night, but I can't find anything about the LP on Saturday
