I think Newark, NJ would be a good compromise. The Prudential Center is a great arena and in the downtown area so it has restaurants and bars all in close walking distance, 20 min. train ride from NYC (both NJ Transit and PATH with both providing multiple lines to Newark), direct public transportation and closer proximity to the Newark airport, cheaper hotels in NJ for guests, can try to market the event to all the NJ residents, NYC (all Burroughs and surrounding areas), and the Philadelphia area as well (as it is not a far ride and there are direct train lines to Newark from Philly). They can even try to reach Connecticut and Massachusetts if need be as well.

Newark recently hosted the Gymnastics American Cup with Gabby Douglas competing and the arena was full and it was so successful that USAG decided to have Newark host it again next year.

I agree. Newark is a great idea!
