I normally don't pay any attention to the skaters at this level but I caught this video of Elise Freezer that was suggested to me on Youtube.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jm27rbGtGlA

Great skating skills, amazing layback, and a natural performer. Looks kind of like a mini Liz Manley.

Is Elise Freezer part of the Freezer family ( I assume so?) that sponsored the Aerial challenge last year? You're right, she's quite promising! Thanks for sharing.

Yes, Elise's family sponsored the inaugural year of the Aerial Challenge in 2015.

At the time, Elise was a Tom Z skater.
Since then, she has moved on ... first to southern California (to train at least partially with Raf, I believe?) ... and more recently to Dallas, where she currently is based (AFAIK).

A side note is that Elise recently completed a few weeks of shooting in Colorado for the independent feature film "Ice," which is about figure skating.
The two main characters (young adults) are elite ladies, best friends who train with the same coach.
Elise's role is the childhood version of one of these main characters.

"Ice" is the same film that had Max Aaron on set -- for just one night of shooting, in his case. A cameo for Max, it would seem.
The film's Facebook page posted a pre-Nats message of support for both Elise and Max:

(BTW, the film has a crowdfunding campaign to help with post-production costs. Details on its FB page, if anyone would like to know more.)

The majority of the girls are 2nd year (if not more) Juv girls. Lindsay Thorngren made it to Sectionals last year but did not make it to Nationals. Haley Scott, Indi Chai, and Elise Freeser all made it to Juv finals at their Regionals last year.

Most of these girls will also skate an intermediate short in the non-qualifying competitions and some (Haley Scott and Indi Chai) will put in triples in those.

Gloria Xia is an absolutely beautiful skater and probably one of the youngest going to Nationals - I believe she is a first year Juv. She got her double axel mid season. She is coached by the Kimmie Messinger's old coach.

Haley Scott is not the most consistent skater (her younger sister Jordan is super consistent - expect to see her name here next year). Haley's skate at Sectionals was not her best. If she is on, she is definately in the medal hunt.

My daughter also skates Juv so we have been with alot of these girls over the years.

Juvenile girls podium is essentially a tie- they are all great.

Of the Juv Dance teams, the Peal siblings really stood out to me. Very entertaining to watch. Interesting that WISA has no Juv teams this year.

Catching juv pairs and delighted to see the team from Louisville (my former hometown) do so well! Unless my eyes deceived me, they landed a SBS 2A, which is pretty ambitious given the level (the other teams so far did a 1A).

Mary Beth Marley sighting! She's coaching on of the juv pairs. Good to see her again at the boards.

Sydney Flum looks like a mini-Alexa Scimeca (the pair is coach by Sappingfield). While not as difficult as the Hagan/Whitlow from Louisville, probably better overall packaging and skating put them over the edge.

Anybody know the names of the pair that did the Addams Family? They seem pretty promising.
There were actually two pairs that did Addams Family.

Emilina Jarvis and Damian Jarvis of SC of Boston, who placed sixth and skated last here, skated to that music.

I can't remember who the other pair was, I think it was the bronze winning pair of Jasmine Wong and
Danylo Siianytsia.

Okay it was Jarvis and Jarvis. I really enjoyed their skate. I'm sure the others were great, I just caught the last two.

It was Flaming/Mugg.

I thought Wong/Siianytsia skated to music from Cirque du Soleil, or something in that vein.

Of the Juv Dance teams, the Peal siblings really stood out to me. Very entertaining to watch.

It was fun to see the Peals; back when I was trying to learn to skate as a 30-year-old, I saw their father and/or uncle (Robert Peal & Richard Peal) taking their first dance lessons with my coach (Patti Kelly, a gold-test dancer who also did pairs; not sure if she was ever at Nationals). This was in the Chicago suburbs in the early 1980s; our rink also was where a prodigy named Nicole Bobek was trying axels as a 4-year-old.
