Did Peter Liu grow a few inches?! I remember he was shorter at JGP... or at least a nationals last year.

Oh wow, nice job Camden! Definitely impressed with how his skate turned out.

Too bad that Alexei had a combo issue, but considering that he did, his SP score still puts him well within the range to win given what he's capable of in the FS if he's successful

I feel like if Eric Sjoberg gets a 3A and is able to land it clean, he could be a threat in the future.

I'm so bummed I missed Eric's SP and Alexei's SP. I was still sleepy.

Dumb question, but why is Alexei competing as a junior and Andrew & Tomoki as seniors? I don't follow the US competitions closely.

Personal decisions by the skaters. Alexei seems to be concentrating on making a run for the Junior title (after being 3rd last year) and Junior Worlds, and hasn't done any Senior Internationals. Andrew and Tomoki each have a Junior National title already (2015 and 2016 respectively) and decided to move up to Seniors nationally (even though it is NOT required). They could still end up at Junior Worlds, but both also accepted Challenger Series assignments to get minimum Senior TES.

I also think perhaps there was a push by TPTB for Alexei to spend another year in juniors to develop his non-jump skills. And I think his improvements in that area is indicative of that work.

Well, it worked with me.;) didn't think much of Alexei last year, but this year, particularly with the Rodeo LP, he's worked so hard on presentation, even if he's still a tad awkward, he *wants* to entertain, and that means a lot. I'm rooting for him.

IMHO, although I haven't seen much of them this year, based on previous work Andrew and Tomoki already have polished presentation skills. I'm curious to see how they'll do as seniors.

OMG THIS MJ cover again?! Why is everyone using it this year?

It's a truly hideous cover. Ugh.

I came in late (in the weeds at work - but am clear to watch all the Sr competitions!) so was planning only to skim Jr Men SP. But it drew me in and I watched all of it. There is true potential in this field--- the top 3 were impressive.

Don't the Junior Men skate this afternoon? Why is this thread so empty? Am I in the wrong area?

Hold on, guys. I'm in process of making a Junior Men's FS thread with all the info in the first post.

ETA apparently there was one but I couldn't find it. Thankfully someone bumped it
