Scooter exercise for our group of kids 😊

https://www.instagram.com/p/BTv8xFbF1NS/?taken-by=angelsofplushenko

Complex "air" jumps - it's very difficult to make them, but it's necessary ☝🏻

ETA - Hmmm... I wonder if some of these got mislabelled? The "air jump" one looks like a "scooter exercise" to me - but then, what do I know?;)

Complex air jumps.......:drama: Notice how the camera cuts off before they all collapse. This is another exercise that is soooo painful but....It really works and explains why skaters have such beautiful legs....I also love that clip of the babies skating around the circle and plushy chasing after them....So cute..

I have never seen that drill where the older kids looked like they were playing tag on 1 leg. I would guess that it helps with reflexes and quick changes of direction. Is that the purpose of that drill??

LRK.......I wish I had more than just one of these little icons to thank you for posting these updates. They really mean a lot to me.......:thank::bow::cheer2:

Your heartwarming comments & responses are more than thanks enough, mrrice - nothing more is needed; it's my pleasure to post these; and it just makes me happy that so little effort on my part can give you some enjoyment.:)

How many students this school has had until now? People say the price is quite above average for usual Russian families, I guess the families have to be somewhat rich to pay for this school for long.

It may be that way for a while. But, in my experience, if this academy is successful, scholarships and grants will be offered for skaters with talent who can't afford the program on their own. I personally sponsor a couple of students here in Clovis by paying for their ballet classes. It seems that the better a student gets, the more expensive their lives become. As the Academy grows, they will have "Patrons" who will spot a promising skater and offer to cover their expenses for a season or more. This is quite common in theater and dance here in the US.

Maxim Trankov on this matter :

"EV: But it's exactly what Pluschenko is doing now in his school - coaching not the very talented, but those who can afford paying.
MT: Many are busy talking about the prices Pluschenko set for a month or a year, even though it's not so much money. For the side coaching, usually a talentless kid, the parents usually pay about 2.5-3K rubles an hour. Sometimes they are training every day, i.e. 7 times a week. Pluschenko simply made that `shadow' price list public."
(a part of his interview, from FSU translated by Tanbka https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/in...ckground-player-in-sochi.101221/#post-5069652)

Plushenko's price is 2200 rubles/hour. But I don't understand Vaitsekhovskaya. How can she knows who is talented? This is a new privat one month old academy..Wait and see!

D'awww all the kids are adorable - and I say this as a person who doesn't like little kids, but they're all so cute! They're so into their lessons.

Congrats to Ilya, although his costume is so 80s... Is that velour?!

Also, with all these tano and rippon jumps I feel like skating needs a motto..."Throw your hands in the air and skate like you don't care."

Well, i personally prefer tano and rippon jumps ^^ when they are well executed, they look more elegant than the regular position.

I've mentioned this before but, any school that specializes in a certain area will be expensive. I don't know the conversion rate when you compare rubles to dollars but, schools like FIDM and Cal Arts where my sister went to college are VERY expensive. Westmont College which is located in my former hometown of Santa Barbara Ca. and where I went briefly is also quite expensive.

"How much is tuition at Westmont College? Tuition and fees at Westmont College are $41,360 without financial aid. With room, board, and other fees combined, total cost of attendance is $57,400." I don't know how much that is in rubles but, my parents never let me forget how much I was costing them....:hpull:

What we must not forget here..... Is that these kids are not being trained by my uncle Joe. They're being trained by a living legend!!! A World and Olympic Champion who is loved by the entire world of figure skating. Not just in Russia.....Plushy is a star wherever he go's. I'm sure there are parents who would pay any price to get their child into Plushy's Academy.

Our student Varya @princess_varya is only 11 y.o., but she already began to train 4 Salchow jump 💪🏻

LRK.................. Look at that little diva and her Quad Sal. Remember her name as I'm sure we'll be seeing lots of her in the future. I'll say it again. I hope you know how much we appreciate getting the chance to see Plushy's Academy from the inside. Even when we get event reports, they are seldom accompanied by close up videos of the coaches and students like the clips that you are posting.

Bravo.......:cheer2::thank:

Well, according to the exchange rates of today that full-board option would be about 3.5 million roubles...

Although I suppose an argument could be made that Russians earn less in general so comparing how much Plushy's school costs in US dollars doesn't mean much, but the Academy does have grants and whatnot for the talented kids.

As for your Uncle Joe...well he could be someone important...after all Plushy is someone's uncle too! ;)

Bravo to LRK indeed! These videos are great!

I hope Varya remains awesome! I wonder if she's been in any competitions that have been recorded, I'm curious about what her programs are like.
