But BTW do you or anyone else know who is the third guy next to Plushenko and Mikhaylov? The dark haired one? He was at the boards with them, too. I have never seen him before.
Sergei Alexeev, another assistant coach - I think in the same group as Mikhailov. Each training group has ~3-4 coaches listed on the Allskaters website. I guess multiple coaches came for accompaniment since the academy had quite a few skaters at this comp (3 in senior ladies alone, Kovalev in senior men's, Kirill S might also be competing in Jr Men tomorrow?)

After hearing that Dmitri Mikhailov was a skater back in the day I went looking around on YouTube and found this little gem from 11 years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8x_hKebEttw Check out the hat-work! Quality exhibition performance :laugh2: (I'm 99% this is him BTW, it certainly looks like him!)

In other news, I'd like to give a shout-out to Kirill's little brother Nikita who skated at the Panin-Kolomenkin Memorial in St Petersburg the other day in the Junior men category. I missed his SP to Moonlight Sonata, but I managed to locate it on the vk stream (beware it might be super choppy! I'm not sure if it's Aussie internet or not) - https://vk.com/figureskating38?z=video-78970490_456239245/videos-78970490/pl_-78970490_-2 it's at 2:47.30 it was a bit rough NGL though he sure did fall on the beat of the music on that 3A attempt! (Also :laugh2: at the Rink DJs choice of replay music, who skates to that music ;) ) So he was 22 out of 25 going into the Free. I did manage to catch his free skate, which rough landings and whatnot aside I really enjoyed - https://vk.com/figureskating38?z=video-78970490_456239247/733eff1e6c9c288356/pl_-78970490_-2 at 3:27.43 in - check out that adorable vest - he did really well and came 12th, giving him an overall 13th place. But wow he's got a 3A and since he was born in 2008 he's 12 years old at the most, bravo young man!

And although I despair his lack of mask etiquette, mad props to Coach Alexander Volkov for rushing to St Petersburg from the Russian Cup 2nd Stage to be with the skaters from the Academy. :) Who's the coach with Nikita at his free skate, I don't recognise him (seems this question was asked before, he's Sergei Alexeev).

I might have posted this before somewhere, but here is some more little Dmitri content :D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IKxbSqqCFE [2013 CoR Stage 3 - last season as a singles skater]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3z7H6ZSfDc8 [2019 Junior Nationals, came 5th with Eva Kuts - last competitive performance]

I guess his eventual height made jumping a bit difficult. Definitely came in handy for ice dance though (and later, coaching with a harness!)

For any interested parties some of the Angels, Sofia Titova, Nikita Sarnovsky and Leonid Sviridenko will be at a competition called "Zhiguli" today! (Well actually Leonid did his short yesterday, but I'm not sure there was a stream)

You can catch the action here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=wvwEKnOSd4g

The times are here: https://fsledokol.ru/novosti/vseros...-raspisanie-sostav-uchastnikov-i-translyacii/

Google Translate is causing me confusion as I can't find the Junior Men (Nikita's event), Leonid will be in the competition that starts at 1:55pm Moscow time and Sofia T's right after at 3:15pm.

Good luck to them all! :cheer:
