She did not have 4 falls, b-man, she was dinged automatically after 3 in this judging system. Kaetlyn is a beautiful skater who had an off day. Judges recognized her presentation qualities and other aspects including, the best 3F/3T and 2A/3T of the competition. She finished 6th in the LP, and 4th overall, due to a decent SP.

Her PCS scores were still absurd. Those three falls were a huge disruption to the program and it did not flow in any way shape or form. The performance quality was NOT at her usual level. She was scored on rep imo nothing more. She certainly deserves such high marks when she hits but not when she clearly BOMBS a program so badly. A lower ranked skater would have been buried in the standings after three falls. Kaetlyn shouldn't have been any higher than 7th or 8th after that FS. She was overscored in the SP too imo. In any event, thank goodness she was at least kept off of the podium after such a disastrous skate. I'm happy the right three skaters won the medals, as it should be.

To your points : Her PCS were lower than usually.... It's up to the judges to decide how badly her performance was with the 3 falls... but if you look at her other events this year, she's had higher PCS with two falls... it's not like Kaetlyn needs to skate flawlessly to earn high scores as she is, no matter what happens, committed 100% to her performance.

She ranked 6th in the FS. Judges were ready to rank her 7th, but guess what, another skater had even more issues with the FS and ranked 11 there... It's easy to propose random rankings.. Also, if you look at the girls ranked 6-9 there is practically no difference in scores, especially 6-7.... So in other words, you got what you asked for...

How is she overscored in the SP? A fall on the least important element after high quality elements everywhere else.... Kaetlyn recieved 69 points, which represents the deduction on the 2A as she normally scores in the 72-73 zone for a clean program.

Yes... let's agree on your last sentence. The right skaters won. In general, there was a lot of movement in the SP and FP... most girls did better in one program or the other but the final ranking seems right.

As always, report posts, do not argue with each other. One's facial expressions on the podium or the fan treatment of Canadian skaters have little bearing on the results of the free skate, so please move on.

^^ sure yup, whatever...judges got it wrong, again...:noshake:

In Kaetlyn's case they certainly did after 3 falls. I'm just glad it didn't affect the standings on the podium. And I do hope that Kaetlyn conquers her demons before Worlds because she is a real threat to the likes of the Russians imo when she hits.

In Kaetlyn's case they certainly did. It was positively Chanflationesque after 3 falls.

These days it's almost a consensus that Patrick's PCS are very underscored but I think Kaetlyn got about the right PCS. No need to liken it to a deflation a la Patrick Chan.
