I'm beyond confused and seriously (insert swear word starting with p here)! What the heck is this reasoning? Our broadcast partners will cover on TV? BS, I say. I just don't get it. Imagine you have the final of the World Cup in Football. Your channel won't show it live, but you can watch the highlights later. What the? I mean, it's nice to rewatch figure skating programs after a competition is over, because they are performances that can be enjoyed later, but sport gets it excitement from the moment, the present. I want to be in the loop. I want to know in THAT moment if someone lands their jumps and who becomes World Champion. It's the reason I get up at 3 in the morning when competitions are on the other side of the World. It's the reason why I bought that subscription to the Player. Thanks for nothing, ISU and Eurosport. I'm just so angry right now.:hslap::shocked::ddevil::furious::mad::furious::bang:

Agreed! This is outrageous. We've had much better coverage of the GP circuit and basically any other major competition this season. Is this a bad joke or sth.?

Could somebody please clarify something?

Finland is on Eastern European Summer Time (GMT+3), right?

Because the Entries / Results Page seems to think the schedule is in GMT+2.

Did the ISU forget that the clocks were changing last weekend? Or, do they think Finland is in the Central European time zone (which would indeed be GMT+2, since it is now on Central European Summer Time)?

Wait, Finland is 3h ahead of me now?

Nevermind, we're not in GMT anymore, we're now GMT+1. I hate timezones.

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure I got my times for tomorrow right.

Yeah, we're on British Summer Time now (or whatever you call it in Portugal).

Actually, they're still 2h ahead according to the internet. Since we're now GMT+1 in the UK and here because of Summer Time. All makes sense again.

I think that is how the ISU got confused. They knew Finland was 2 hours ahead of us in the UK/Ireland/Portugal, but forgot that we aren't on GMT when Worlds starts.

And I hate time zones too! It gets far too complicated when working out when things start.

Don't tell me Fuji tivi has some hands in this too. :palmf: No live stream for WC from ISU!

And when it's on youtube, Fuji Tivi will block it. :hopelessness:

Seriously :hpull:

So, to clarify, does the Ladies begin at 10:40 local time or 11:40 local time? I'm now confused. Or the issue is just the UTC+2 they have on the results page that should say UTC+3?

Yeah, the problem with their TV broadcasters showing the competition is that they actually aren't. Well, not all of it. Eurosport will have very little of it be live too. It's frustrating.

[ I sincerely hope it's not Kat Downes again on commentary though, she was useless during Boston, and knows nothing about Skating. Would the BBC put a total newbie on any other Sport? Ofcourse not! But FS doesn't count! :disapp:]

I sincerely thought the person they were planning to commentate alongside Mr. Cousins either became ill or cancelled last minute - her commentary was soooo bad.

And, she kept calling ALL of the skaters 'dancers' :palmf:

Unfortunately Kat Downes is back with Robin Cousins on the BBC. :sad4:

She tweeted she was getting ready for "the Spandex". I sent a critical reply. Couldn't help myself, but so sick of the way the BBC treats Skating. An article named 2 GB Ladies and 2 GB Men as supposedly competing at Worlds. I tweeted the journo GB has one skater in each category, the other 2 skaters are alternates. Completely ignored me and the article is still unedited online. They have no clue about FS whatsoever and it makes me mad! :dev2:

I honestly think I will have to stick with Tarasova and the Russian coverage on livestream as I can't cope with Downes. Irritating is an understatement! :drama:

Thank you Russian stream!

:disapp: I'm just glad I didn't renewed my Eurosportplayer monthly subscription ... really ISU...

I'm shocked. I was expecting the Eurosport Player to have a stream of the ISU World Feed. But, I just checked the TV schedule page, and the only extra streams they have listed for tomorrow are the World Feeds for the 2 snooker tables in Beijing.

That said, I have seen it happen before that streams are not listed in the schedule page, and then they suddenly appear a few minutes before the event is due to start.

I will keep an eye on the Eurosport Player tomorrow and, if a stream of the ISU World Feed appears, I will let you all know straight away.

As there will be no ISU livestream on the ISU page, I doubt that there's going to be an ISU livestream on eurosport:noshake:

I used to use Hola until I realized it was a peer-to-peer VPN that uses your ISP as an exit node for other users (what if someone's checking child porn with your internet connection?). Since that sounded bad, I stopped using it.

I don't know if you use another VPN or not, but for anyone who feels like they can't or don't want to spend money on a vpn, Avast SecureLline offers a free 7 day trial - as far as I remember you don't have to give credit card details or anything like to get the free 7 days.

Not necessarily. Look at some of the other sports on the Eurovision website.

On the Nordic Skiing page ( http://www.eurovisionsports.tv/fis/nordic/ ), the only event in the video archives is the 2015 Worlds. Yet, Eurosport Player puts up streams for the World Feeds for every World Cup competition in Ski Jumping, Cross Country and Nordic Combined.

Similarly with the Alpine Skiing page ( http://www.eurovisionsports.tv/fis/alpine/ ). Again, the only event in the video archives is the 2015 Worlds. Yet, Eurosport Player puts up streams for the World Feeds for every World Cup competition.

And if you do manage to watch the World Feeds of any of the above ski-sports, you will see on the credits at the end that the coverage is actually produced by the EBU (the owners of Eurovision). So, it is not as if the EBU don't have the rights to the ski-sports. It is just that somebody (be it the FIS, the EBU or the TV broadcasters) doesn't want the World Feed broadcast on the Eurovision website.

And it looks like the same is happening here with this year's Figure Skating Worlds.

Compare that with the Biathlon page ( http://www.eurovisionsports.tv/ibu/ ), where the World Feed is broadcast for EVERY IBU competition, be it World Cup; IBU Cup (the second tier tour); World Championships; European Championships; Junior Worlds; etc.

The Biathlon World Cup, World Championships and European Championships are broadcast on Eurosport. And the World Feeds for these get streamed on BOTH Eurosport Player and Eurovision. Hey, the Eurovision stream even uses the Eurosport commentary (which can get amusing when Eurosport are showing recorded clips when the World Feed is showing LIVE pictures!)

Yet the ONLY places the Eurovision stream ever gets blocked are France and Poland (presumably because biathlon is also shown on other channels in these countries, and there is something written into the contracts with those local broadcasters that doesn't allow the World Feed to be streamed on Eurovision).

To me, this is perfect.

So, perhaps the ISU (and the FIS) could learn something from the way the IBU does things.

The coverage this year is probably the worst I have seen in 10 years, no ISU channel, no Eurosport coverage, nothing. Europe is doomed at it´s home championships ...

Anyways, CBC sports shows it all
