This promising pair needs a thread here. She is born in 2 November 2003 and he is born in 16 September 1997. They are from Yekaterinburg and they are coached by Filipp Tarasov and Yulia Bystrova. This season was their 3rd season together. I think she is really promising pair skater but he is rather short for a pair skater which might become a problem in the future. Despite the fact that he is almost 6 years older than her they can skate 2 JGP seasons. Previously he was known be a really unstable jumper but this season he did very well. They were 4th at the Russian Junior Championships and 9th at the Russian Senior Championships.

It is so sad that some of these pairs will not get a JGP event next season. In theory there might even be more top teams if Mirzoev will team up with a good junior eligible skater. I really hope Zhuk/Britkov will not be one of the pairs who doesn't get at least one JGP event.

Russia's JGP candidates for next season.

Aleksandra Boikova / Dmitrii Kozlovskii
Amina Atakhanova / Ilia Spiridonov
Alina Ustimkina / Nikita Volodin
Elizaveta Zhuk / Egor Britkov
Daria Kvartalova / Alexei Sviatchenko
Lina Kudryavtseva / Alexander Simenenko
Daria Pavlyuchenko / Denis Khodykin
Anastasia Mishina / Alexander Gallyamov
Ekaterina Borisova / Dmitry Sopot
Anastasia Poluianova / Maksim Selkin

They are present at the test skate event. I wasn't totally sure about that because nowadays one can never be totally sure which junior pairs have splitted up and which aren't. I am confident that they will make it to the Russian JGP team now since so many Russian junior pairs have split up. The competition is still pretty tough though but not as tough as it would have been without all the split ups.

Since Mozer doesn't have a thread in here I will ask this here.

I will not disclose all the secrets, but, perhaps, soon another coach will appear in our team, who will move with his pairs. At the moment, this issue is being resolved.

Any idea who's group is she talking about here?

It seems Zhuk/Britkov (and also Pepeleva/Bezborodko) and their coach, Filipp Tarasov, are part of Mozer's group now.

Still no JGP events for them, that's very disappointing. I guess they didn't do well at the test skate event.

Seeing them skate at this competition, I am not surprised that they haven't got any JGP event yet.

Sadly they couldn't make their JGP debut this season but atleast they will make their international debut this season because they are on the entry list of Golden Spin of Zagreb (Junior event).

Are they still together? I am surprised. Considering they didn’t do Russian cup events, they didn’t qualify for junior or senior nationals, so I thought they are gone.

Congrats with first international medal 124.96 and they're second after Mishina/Gallyamov!
Hope to see them at JNats despite competing at only 1 Cup of Russia

I am not sure what injuries they had but in any case they didn't compete much this season. In theory they still would have one more junior season left but since they skipped this season and because there are a lot of very competitive teams fighting for JGP spots there is only a little hope that we would ever see them at JGP.

We still might see her at JGP though. They may or may not split up after this season but either way Liza will have plenty of time to find a new (and much bigger) JGP eligible partner. And I really hope that she will because she can become a great pair skater.

Zhuk/Britkov have already split. This season Liza has been training with Maxim Miroshkin. Here Maxim said about this. https://www.sports.ru/tribuna/blogs/48cupsoftea/1600238.html
But maybe it is a temporary partnership until she finds a good junior eligible partner.

So it would seem. I really do hope that she will end up skating with a younger JGP eligible partner.

I just rewatched some videos from last season and it thought that Simenenko would make a really good partner for Liza. He is good enough, tall enough and they would be JGP eligible for three more seasons. Simenenko hasn't skated this season, so, he might be still available or he might have a new partner who is new to pair skating and that is why he hasn't competed this season.

I guess it is official now, Zhuk/Miroshkin is a pair now since they were named for the Russian national reserve team.

Good for them, although I was hoping she would skate JGP events with a younger partner.

This is only a rumor but it seems that Zhuk/Miroshkin partnership might not be happening because Liza is now skating with Maxim Shagalov. All this might be just a temporary thing untill Miroshkin comes back though.

Hopefully this is just temporary thing or a tryout and she will soon find a better partner. Shagalov hasn't competed in the last two seasons and didn't compete much even before that, so, I have a hard time believing this partnership would work out in case this wouldn't be just temporary thing.

A few years ago I was watching Zhuk/Britkov thinking how great it would be if they split up. There was a huge difference in their skills, Zhuk landing all her jumps and Britkov not landing anything, so their results were not as great as they could have been. Now when they don’t skate together, it seems that Zhuk is going through one dead end partnership after the other. Why Miroshkin if he is having such significant health problems? And now why Shagalov? Surely the coaches would like a female skater who can do all triples and lands them, and would want her for any decent male partners? Isn’t there someone better for her? It is such a waste.
