This team represents Croatia. I really really enjoyed them A LOT at Europeans but figured surely someone else would realize their awesomeness and start a thread.

They really rocked their SP at Worlds today and I came here looking for them and when I saw they still had no thread I decided the time had come to bite the bullet and do it. They're still a little rough around the edges but have really fun and even innovative programs and very nice cohesion and quality considering they've been together less than a year. I'm hoping they'll be qualifying for the free skate :cheer:

I've just updated their OP. The original info did not contain any biographical, programs or results details, so I hope you'll enjoy finding this information in one place.

A transcript of a TV programme. Please welcome and enjoy.

Narrator:

During the Advent open ice rinks are opened all over Croatia. An ice park in Tomislavec in Zagreb is a place that all Croatian capital s guests can t miss. Skating outdoors with Christmas music accompany is a special feeling. But somewhere behind the festoons of Christmas merriment there is figure skating in which we used to enjoy listening to Milka Babovic's commentary.
It seems that our olympian Sanda Dubravcic has a heiress. Lana Petranovic and her Russian partner had been to the European championship final.

Antonio:

We'd been training a little last time since my partner had just recovered after an injury. And the Europeans were good for us considering the time we had for preparation.

Narrator:

In order to achieve such results and have ideal training conditions Lana had to move to Moscow three years ago.

Lana:

I live and train in Moscow. I get up about 9 o clock, have breakfast and go to practice from 10 to 12 a.m., come home, have some studies since I'm a student of a uni in Zagreb. Then I'm back to practice from 4 to 6 p.m., come home, make dinner, study again and that is every day.

Antonio:

Yes, we have some training regimen, we have practices 6 times a week. And if you didn t sleep enough or had too much leisure normal practice is impossible.

Narrator:

Lana was accompanied to Moscow by her first coach Gorana Skalec Petrovic. She helped Lana to choose a partner and a Russian coach.

Gorana Skalec Petrovic:

There's noting for Lana that would make her refusing her goal. She left, it makes me somehow sad. But of course she left there because of the better training conditions. Her partner lives there. There are excellent pair skating coaches over there. And there she can train 6 – 8 hours what is impossible in Zagreb.

Lana:

Russian coaches are strict because they demand order, work and discipline. But if you want to succeed you must have it all. We do triple twist and triple throws flip and loop, do all lifts, try to be as better as possible every season.

Narrator:

For Lana s partner Antonio Croatia has become the second home.

Antonio:

I have already got used to Zagreb. I like it because it is a rather small citywith beautiful central avenues. And here is always some festival atmosphere. Russian and Croatian are a bit similar, so Russian can be used. And what about the mentality difference, it seems that Europeans are more friendly.

Narrator:

We decided to test Antonio if he is a strong skater and if he can skate with a partner who was on ice 3 times during her life.
With a bit of work everyone can learn skate. And during these Christmas days it would be a pity to miss an opportunity of enjoying on the ice.

Congratulations on winning the first international competition. :cheer:
Though there wasn't the strongest pairs field at the Ice Mall Cup, Lana and Antonio hardly could have been regarded as the favourites to win before the competition, maybe medal contenders to some extent.

I was wondering why the team split before attending the worlds. Dmitri Savin revealed in a recent interview that Antonio needed a surgery.
