A little late but about the female coach listed as part of Kazuki's team, I'm quite positive she's in fact Yukako Sugita the long time coach and choreographer at Naniwa Sports Center.
Like the mistake made with Akio Sasaki's name, I believe the "Sagita" listed on Kazuki's ISU bio is a typo.
All references I've seen in Japanese lists (Sugita Yukako) as his secondary coach.
I'm also unable to locate a Yukako "Sagita" on the Japan Figure Skating Instructor Association site http://jfsia.jp/memberlist/member006.html

(I wasn't aware that I had made this same error on the OP of this thread but have since corrected the info)

I was able to only find one video of a skater who I believe trained under Sugita-sensei and judging by this girl's technique, I'd say Sugita-san is not likely a jump coach.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbkZuD446ts

However, I did notice that Kazuki's jumps seemed to stabilize during Akio Sasaki's brief stint with the team (mid 2107 season~summer 2018), .
Because Sasaki-san was not known to be a particularly strong jumper himself, I found it quite amusing to see him advising Kazuki on the 4S in a Doshisha promotional video.
But soon after, his 4S started to look really nice (pre-rotation aside). It made me think that Sasaki-san may have actually been brought in to at least partly work on jump technique.

Anyway, Best of Luck to Kazuki in his first competition of the new season!

Thanks for clarifying! So it was a typo after all
I knew he had worked with someone for jumps, so I assumed 'Yukako Sagita' was a jump coach. My mistake!
I hope one day he gets to work with a jump coach, then, is it too much to dream of Kazuki spending some time with Ghislain from TCC?

Aaaaagghhh~ I just had a chance to read the translation to part 3 and this paragraph gave me GOOSEBUMPS!
To think that Kazuki likely decided to upgrade his FS jump layout by challenging 3AEu3S combo for the first time all on his own. I'M SO PROUD OF HIM!!!
And I can't even begin to express my appreciation for Hiraike-sensei right now~
for having Kazuki's best interest in mind, for believing in his talent and abilities enough to encourage him to make independent decisions and take control of his own development while reliably being by his side when necessary.

So many emotions...

As always, Thank you so much Tsurara for sharing all the precious translations!

YES! I completely agree with you :sad21:
I already thought Kazuki had a lot on his plate last season: dealing with the increase in expectations, the beginning of the working relationship with Misha, tackling challenging programmes, trying to upgrade his BV. Then, on top of it, he was managing his own training and career for the first time! It is truly impressive.

Absolutely hats off to Hiraike-sensei for recognising Kazuki's abilities and taking the decision to step back so Kazuki can grow as a person and a skater. I also remember Kazuki saying in the 'Kinki Life' interview that although he manages his own training on a daily basis, having Hiraike-sensei around in competitions helps him a lot, and sometimes Hiraike-sensei is capable of motivating Kazuki using a single word!

Their relationship is so amazing. I think this fan art pretty much says it all: https://twitter.com/nozomi500k4/status/1159517239055228928

THANK YOU, Arriba! Please do not delete, this is the video published today as part of the Asahi Shimbun's fourth and final article with Kazuki :luv17:
I also don't understand a word he says (apart from the 'Yoroshiku onegaishimasu' at the end), but it's so nice to see him

It seems that this article is about 'admiring rivals' - he mentions Yuzuru Hanyu, Shoma Uno and Daisuke Takahashi. Here are some pics:

My Japanese is mediocre at best, but I think the tweet goes like "Met an Asada Mao fan at the Asada Mao exibition, told them "I'm a fan of Kazuki" and the Asada Mao fan said "I have a lot of friends who say the same thing", that made me really happy". Again, I'm no Tsurara-san so please do take that with a healthy grain of salt. BTW hi, long-time lurker here. Wanted to thank you (and the other commentors) for keeping the thread alive and with great stuff :thank:

Hi everyone, just wanted to share a few bits before our boy debuts his SP in competition tomorrow!

Firstly, check out some more pics from the Chacott exhibition. I hadn't appreciated his Cinepara costume had so many stones and details, so pretty!

Just the Video part for now

I think it's important to be accepting to try and work on anything. It's very difficult to accept your own weakness, but accepting many different inspirations, ideas and opinions out there and incorporating those that you find good, one after another amenably, would pave the way for you, I believe.

What should we be looking for in your programs this season?

The expressions in them are really outstanding and different from the ones (I've done) before. As for Short, it's filled with contemporary elements with the movements that I had never done before, with some odd, and many tough ones. So, you may be able to see different me that you've never seen before...? [laugh], I think. As for Free, it has far more powerful and deep expressions, and the music brings out what I had lacked before to the fore. I would like to deliver that solidly.

Your determination for jumps?

Well, I had 2 4S (in a program) until last season. But (this season) having different quads, Salchow and Toe-loop, gives me another kind of difficulty and I've been working hard on it. I myself value continuing to challenge something new without fearing mistakes, so I would like to successively try new jumps one after another especially this season.

Your goal for this season?

I'd like to go after what I couldn't redeem, or better yet, accomplish something better, carefully and steadily in every single competition this season. I'd like to fight strong in each and every competition to meet your expectations. I appreciate your support and cheers.

Notes: There are a few words that I should explain in detail. I typed down the script too so Japanese learners can actually get to hear his direct words with your own ears (and compare with auto-translate or get your own interpretation). First, the word 素直/sunao, has a lot of different translations depending on context, but here it means 'accepting', 'obedient', or 'docile' (in a positive way), and I used 'amenable'. It's about being true and sincere to yourself, not to hesitate but to admit and accept everything openly and willingly. You can ignore most of すごい/sugoi, amazing or awesome, used here. Tomono-kun often over-use it and some of them are just fillers, or just describing degrees (aka, degree adverbial, such as amazingly many, etc). どんどんどんどん is an onomatopoeia to describe a wave of something successively managing one after another (Tomono-kun surely means it 'one by one' not 'all at once', though), not sure if there is a right translation word for it in English. I've seen 'thick and fast' and 'bish-bash-bosh' in dictionaries but it doesn't necessarily mean too 'fast' in this case. It's him describing his passion, like on a spree, so don't take it literally. As surimi once said, you can simply ignore と(いう風に)思います, which means 'I think', but just one of the most common euphemistic expressions in this language. The last sentence is just as KiraraChin heard, yoroshiku onegaishimasu! and I'm sure I don't need to explain that, right?
The first part does not show the interviewer's question, and I wonder if it's Tomono-kun's advice to the readers... but since Mirai note never had such a video message before as far as I know, maybe it's a message to fans, or he's just talking about his policy. Either way, 'you' in the first paragraph is just general 'you', and he may have meant it 'me'.

My town celebrating summer carnival, and my work, ball games to watch, and lots of fs news, and now I get to watch Gensan livestreaming on Jsports!? (It is supposed to be 'Jsports On Demand' and they won't let me watch it on MY demand... *sighs* I'm missing it tomorrow's streaming because Men's Free will be during day time when I'm at work...I'm going nuts!)
Ok, enough with me bitching, I'll work on other things (the last part of Mirai note, the writer's tweets, and digital extra) later, hopefully today but not sure. I bet a lot of fans will start tweeting about Gensan soon and I won't be able to cover that today! (I'm counting on you all, I'll be watching both Gensan and baseball on tv and pc :drama:)
There are many posts that I want to reply to, but will do later... (feels like I've been saying later later later nowadays...)

Tsurara-san, THANK YOU SO MUCH! I generally love Kazuki's interviews because he's so level-headed and he's normally able to assess himself and his own weaknesses pretty well. This one is no exception! His heart and mind are definitely in the right place, and great to have confirmation that he now has two types of quads! I also love his determination to expand not only his jumps, but the range of his interpretation, too :luv17:
Also, I didn't know this was the first Mirai Note to have a video! Kazuki's power!
Today the last Mirai Note article was published in print, and they had a colour version for Osaka! How cool!

Ok, I lied, I had to repeat Tomono kun's Chroma over and over (while I can) ...as if his performance put a spell on me!
... as a result, m(_ _)m I'm sorry, I didn't feel like doing any other translations today :scard8:
I know I'm just making an excuse :rolleye: but what I mean to say is that I just love this program so much or maybe too much.

The music is so dramatic (as expected) and the choreo is nothing generic (as expected), his dance so great (as expected) and just because he can do this good, it also lets very small negative details (jumps aside) stand out as well unfortunately (unexpected) - Certain things are a lot more easily done on land than on ice, you know, and I just can't help but expect more and more from him and maybe I'm wishing for something not possible to do with skates on... but I think he can do it. I see a huge potential in this program and his ability. I'm sure it's gonna be his biggest signature when he manages doing it without mistakes.

Anyways, here are some news articles on him.
Kazuki Tomono 2 quads in SP, said "(I learned) how exhausting it is (to have 2 different quads in SP)" 1st with 73.33 points
https://hochi.news/articles/20190811-OHT1T50289.html
Uhhh, Tomono-kun, allow me to have a say, but, I'm afraid it's not just those jumps that exhausted you, but that choreo... it's one of the most exhausting programs I've ever seen. Even the camera couldn't follow his moves well.
Kazuki Tomono 1st in SP, "Good start" successful quad-triple combination
https://www.daily.co.jp/general/2019/08/11/0012600691.shtml

And Sota has also announced that he's gonna come back with FP tomorrow to win the beef. I never imagined that I'd ever get so interested in men's battle for prime beef!?

Just some info from those articles and the Asahi writer's tweet: Tomono-kun's original jump layout for SP was 4T-3T, 4S, and 3A. However, after stepping out his first 4T, he added 2nd 3T to his 4S to make it a combo. What a recovery, and a very nice one! (I didn't notice it was a recovery!) His 4T looked great at first sight too, but failed at landing. He was too exhausted by the time he did 3A, according to his words in the articles. He did look very exhausted in the end to my eyes too and his last spin ended up very slow.

First of all, can I just say how incredibly proud of Kazuki I feel right now. Fall aside, he showed us two, I repeat TWO pieces of new tech today! :hap57:
The 4T, a jump he's been trying to master since 2015! And the 4S3T which, on top of being a new combo, was also improvised!
Whatever happens tomorrow, what he's already achieved in this competition is huge!

Tsurara-san, I already love this programme just by your description! I can't wait to see it with my own eyes (any videos out there yet?), because it sounds superb.
Lack of stamina and awkwardness are normal for early season! This programme sounds really special, and I'm sure it will become better and better as Kazuki grows into it

I also saw this tweet which I love, I hope Google translated it correctly because it really gives me the feels: https://twitter.com/tadaima_fs_kbk/status/1160556228637908992

LMAO I'm sure Kazuki is very keen on the beef too! :laugh2:
Since Sota and Kazuki are BFFs, I hope that whoever wins throws a barbecue and invite the other so they can have some of the beef, too ;)

Tomorrow is Moulin Rouge... I really hope Kazuki shows that fiery and fierce side of him that we've seen at DOI, and slays it! Go, Kazuki!

As you can see, lots of work yet to be done... In addition to mistakes on jumps, he also lost levels on spins and StSq.
Also, c'mon judges, how can you give Kazuki 6s in PCS!!! Outrageous :gaah:

However, what Kazuki achieved in this competition is HUGE. He landed three new big elements for the first time in competition, and he did it while simultaneously delivering full-blown complex choreo (according to all the reports I read). That alone would be a massive achievement at any point in the season, but doing that at a Summer comp is just mind-blowing

I'm also very happy because after last season finished in such a 'kuyashi' note, he now got a great confidence boost. Hopefully he won't get complacent, and instead will use this to build up on his skills and get better and better as the season progresses.

Also, what a message to the Fed!
I hope they watched it and reconsider their decision to keep Kazuki on level A funding, which is ridiculous!

Hi everyone! I found some news clips of Kazuki!

In this one, if I understood correctly, he says his final goal is to go to GPF and the World Championships, and take big medals instead of small medals. Go, Kazuki!

Also, here's his 4T3T! Now I understand why it got great GOE, so nice and effortless!
I'm super impressed because he's been trying to land the 4T for years, and now he can do it even in combo! Makes me hopeful about his chances with the 4lo as well...

Guys, so I have a question about his FS jump layout...

What we saw at Gensan Summer Cup was: 4T3T 4S 3A3T 3lo 3A 3F 3Lz
However, shouldn't he have a 3 jump combo somewhere in his programme? Like last season he had 3A-eu-3S?
I was thinking that maybe his jump layout would be 4T3T 4S 3A-eu-3S 3lo 3A3T 3F 3Lz
Basically, the same as last season, just replacing the 4S2T for 4T3T... That way, he would still have an upgrade in BV (as 4T3T is worth more than 4S2T), while avoiding REP and hopefully retaining some stamina to hit all his other jumps and levels...
What do you think? Or do you think he should go for a 3-quad FS, like Sota and Keiji?
