^ lolol! How very sweet of him ^ ^ But yikes, he looks so very young, that doesn't bode well for me wanting to take a pic with him at CDP! He'd look like my son, lol... Guys, we'll hopefully see him in just a wee bit over 14 days :luv17: Fingers crossed...

Don’t worry Surimi, he must be used to take pictures with a lot of fans and to be honest it’s not difficult to look older than him [emoji5]
I hope you will get your pic!!!

Kazuki posted some lovely updates from the MHOI show yesterday: https://www.instagram.com/p/B8_lOwBHESX/
I know the others were wearing skates and he wasn't, but he looks soooooo tiny! Also, shoe polishing skills on point :agree:
Also, this one: https://www.instagram.com/p/B8_m_luncO8/ The caption translates as 'The mean brothers', but Kazuki doesn't look mean at all

Sion Kamada also posted some pics with Kazuki: https://www.instagram.com/p/B8-z3NMJXax/

and his hair looks gorgeous in a pic taken by a fan: https://www.instagram.com/p/B8_o2_ppnBI/ :luv17:

Seeing all these photos and videos, Kazuki is indeed such a sunshine. (Which is why I threw him a sunflower and a smiley at 4CC 😁 )

お兄さん達 is "older brothers" so I'm sure he was referring to Junya and Kosuke (who happen to be really close, just like brothers). I think they were "play" harassing him.

There was an article published by Real Sports on Kazuki yesterday, in japanese but this link works with Google Translate: https://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20200226-00010001-realspo-spo
Really good read, it tells about his journey and how he managed to increase his PB every time he was sent as a substitute!

Natural hair and glasses = Kazuki at his best!!!
Especially for you, Giu: More pics of the natural gorgeous hair + glasses combo

Look what I found! A pic of the four friends - Kazuki, Sota, Mitsuki and Taichiro - in 2013! :luv17:

ETA: He said in his story that the Naniwa rink has been closed because of coronavirus. How is he supposed to train for CdP?

They were so cute :) Good find! I almost wouldn't recognize Mitsuki and Kazuki - Mitsuki still has a round chldlike face here, and Sota and Taichiro don't tower over Kazuki as they do now ^ ^

I thought Naniwa was Kazuki's high school and he practised at Doshisha, so do I have it wrong? Anyhow, very sad. But consider that we cannot be sure at this point if CDP will even take place. :[ They still haven't put up an entries list and haven't replied to my email for almost three days... maybe they themselves are unsure if sports competitions would be allowed to take place. Or if the Japanese skaters come. I hope they offer a refund for tickets in those cases.
I have my Kazuki banner displayed on one of our armchairs (it got a bit wrinkled in the printing studio, but I don't want to wash it yet), and cannot help but feel a pang of worry every time I glance at it.
All I can do is write my messages for Kazuki, Sota and Mitsuki today, and hope for the best. If they cannot come, at least I will have practised my kanji, though it would be poor comfort :[

Kazuki's main practice rink is the Naniwa Sports Centre, which I think is somehow affiliated with Doshisha, but not the same location (Naniwa is in Osaka, and Doshisha in Kyoto).

So the Naniwa rink has closed, I hope Kazuki has alternative arrangements and will be able to practice somewhere

About CdP, I agree they're probably waiting to assess the situation. AFAIK, no cases there so far, fingers crossed...

Kazuki is first alternate for Worlds, it should be the Federation's responsibility to find a location where he can keep in shape. I hope his skating needs are being taken care of.

I know, but it's almost 14 days till CDP. :hopelessness: I can hope...

It seems that Team Japan's participation at Coupe du Printemps has been cancelled. RIP
https://twitter.com/kokomadekokomo/status/1233407423085330433?s=19

I am so unhappy. We can cancel the hotel reservations but I am afraid the organizers will not want to refund my tickets, and the plane tickets are non refundable and those cost us a lot of money. This was to be my only holiday until at least Challengers because the plane tickets themselves cost so much and I cannot afford any other stay... I have no words, it's back to dull greyness for me for the next eight months. :(

Oh no guys, I'm so sorry!!!!!
Everyone is overreacting with this virus, I see the panic setting here in Italy but the numbers are not worse than those of a normal seasonal flu... I couldn’t have come to Luxembourg anyway because apparently the Luxembourg authorities are asking the Italians from northern Italy to stay in isolation for 14 days :sarcasm: but I feel for you :sad21: I imagine the banners and the presents for Kazuki at home, I'm sure there will be other opportunities but still it stings too much...
The organizers must refund your tickets, after all, the most famous skaters are not partecipating anymore. It's an exceptional event!

I am also sorry for Kazuki because he could have closed the season with a nice podium

PS. Can't you consider the idea to use those days to visit Luxembourg? Maybe it's not at the top of your list of places to visit, but give it a chance

It's thoughtful of you, thanks for your kind words. :ghug: I cannot come to Luxembourg if Team Japan are not going, they were my only reason to go. The hotel is even more expensive than air tickets, and at least we can still cancel it I hope. Not to mention the costs that eating out there would mean, and other things.

If fate is kind, Kazuki and Sota could go together to Europe next year. To a Challenger, ideally... and we could still meet up.
We'll miss seeing you, boys :( Stay safe. And same for you, Giu and Kirara!

I'm so sad for everyone who purchased plane and event tickets and arranged accommodations to see Team Japan at CdP.
I hope you'll all be able to attend a competition next season to watch Kazuki and your other favorites perform in person.

I really want to contribute some useful info but I don't think I have anything new to share. After all, I usually depend on Kirara to keep me up-to-date.:bow:

Not sure if anyone else saw this or is interested but someone uploaded Junya Watanabe's final/retirement skate at Kansai Free.
It includes the footage of Kazuki and other skaters (Mitsuki, Taichi Honda etc...) hugging/thanking him after his performance.
https://youtu.be/hI52-yaeWAI
Kazuki appears at 7:03 but it's pretty cool to see how how everyone cheers for/"high touches" Junya before his skate.
I always find it incredibly touching to see just how much the Japanese skaters seem to respect and support each other.
I'm really happy these friendships are important to Kazuki and he continues to participate in small local and intercollegiate competitions.

This :( Although CdP doesn't count for an SB, he could have earned some precious WS points and a medal...
Also, it would have been such a fun competition for him!

Awww thank you so much for this! It's super sweet, and I hadn't appreciated Junya skated to New Cinema Paradiso!
That moment between Kazuki and Junya is so cute. Such a tight embrace, and Kazuki looks so small in Junya's arms, it's almost like father and son :sad21:

Expected but sad. I cannot say I agree with what the fed seems to be implying by showcasing Kagiyama and co. at junior Worlds, and barring their lower ranked skaters from a less important event. Apparently some competitions are worth the health risk and others are not. Right...
When will we get the chance to see Kazuki and Sota next in an afforable competition... or even just one of them. There's just a 50-50 chance for some of us Europeans, as US and Autumn Classic are out of the question due to distance, and Lombardia due to the price. And that's supposing both boys are healthy. So the long wait till autumn begins... Maybe, barring accidents *knock on wood*, our family budget could have recovered by then from the blow that the unused CdP air tickets are.
I am thinking of writing Kazuki a letter of support, hoping that the Fed actually passes them on to skaters.

Re. the previous poll, I guess you can vote for Kazuki only if you have a twitter account?
