How do I play the ramen story? Or has it been deleted? I can only see the ramen pic.
Btw I hope Kazuki benefits from the ISU rule change if he brings his 4Lo! If he manages to land it in competition, sky is the limit...

The ramen story is just a picture! The t-shirt story is a little video :)

YAAAAASSSS I thought the same! :yahoo:
Also, the fact that 3F and 3lz will have the same BV benefits him, as his 3F is stronger than his 3lz - he often gets edge calls on his lutz, also he can combo the 3F more easily if necessary. This way, if he has to choose he can do a 3F instead of 3lz without worrying about losing BV!

Happy Birthday! I've heard a rumor that the rinks in Osaka might open... that would be the best birthday present for Kazuki I am sure. I hope it really happens.

Kazuki will be speaking at the Japan Society of Ice Sports Science research conference, to be held online 28 June-5 July!
https://2020.jasiss.jp/
Here's the session he'll be participating:
“What sports can do for corona” (planned)
Facilitator: Hirokazu Arai (Hosei University, Faculty of Letters Psychology Department)
Speakers: Kazuki Tomono (figure skating) / Sena Suzuki (ice Hockey Women's)
I'm so happy for him, this is so cool! He'll be speaking at an academic conference in his field (remembering he's majoring at Sports Science), also sharing a session with a very accomplished athlete - Sena Suzuki was a member of the Japanese women's hockey team, a two-time Olympian and also the first non-Canadian/non-American lady to play in the Canadian women's hockey league!
You go, Kazuki! Just please wear something a bit smarter than your 'ramen fool' t-shirt

Also, Doshisha figure skating clue posted his skate from the Kansai inter-collegiate championships in February, which ended up being his last skate of the season.

Considering his crazy layout with 4 quads and 2 3As as last jumping passes, and the fact he was quite emotional because some of his friends were retiring, I though he did super well!

^ lmao, the ad I saw pop up next to your post was a ramen delivery ad! Very appropriate for a Kazuki thread
I'm sure he'll look sharp for his speech, no worries! Isn't Kazuki a fan of fashion? ... it's just his hair I'm worried about, what if he's true to his word from the Q&A, and dyes it red? :p

LOL this is the 'Kazukeconomy', Kazuki driving up ramen sales worldwide :laugh2:
Good point about his hair... :drama:

On a different note, Kazuki sent a postcard to some of his japanese fans! He thanks them for their support and wishes them good health :luv17:
https://twitter.com/Balette51k/status/1262737325479522305

Some lucky fans also received a mousepad with Kazuki and Keiji from the JPlanning Q&A!

I think we've just found a lucrative career for Kazuki when he's done with skating  Imagine how the sales of a ramen delivery service would increase if Kazuki endorsed them!

Aww, that is so sweet of him to reach out to his fans. From what I've heard, not many skaters do that.
Which reminds me, I wonder when my own letter to Kazuki will reach him. Several people have now told me that shipping / mail delivery between Japan and other countries is very slow these days. Maybe it arrives mid-summer, lol.

I hope that when rinks open, Kazuki will let us know!

Good luck, Surimi! Maybe after your letter arrives, you'll be included in his mailing list to receive postcards, too!

Before I forget again, more lovely birthday fan art!

Hi everyone, just sharing some great news: The Japanese government has lifted the state of emergency for Osaka, Kyoto and Kyogo :yahoo:
https://www.nippon.com/en/news/ntv20200521003/

As far as I know, Kazuki's home rink (Naniwa Sports Centre) is closed until the end of May, but now with the state of emergency lifted, it's possible they will re-open again, even if it's on a limited basis. In addition, the lifting of the state of emergency in Hyogo means it's possible skaters will be able to use the Nishinomiya rink again (there's where Keiji and Sota train, and Kazuki was training there too after Naniwa was closed). Not to mention, Doshisha's university rink in Kyoto might be open, too!

In any case, good news all around! Since Kazuki has been a lot quieter on social media this week, I wonder if he's back to training already...

More good news!
Kazuki will appear on the July edition of Japanese fashion magazine 25ans. They released a 'taster' of the interview:
https://www.25ans.jp/lifestyle/skate/g32657027/tomonokazuki-200525/
It's in Japanese but it works with Google Translate. Super cool, he talks about costumes and also Surimi will be pleased to know he mentions his admiration/rivalry with Sota ;)

Also, Atom Doshisha published Part 1 of a two-part interview with Kazuki on plans for next season: https://twitter.com/atom_doshisha/status/1264867524031594496 (note they use a Kazuki pic as avatar )
This one doesn't work with Google Translate, sadly, but I saw on Twitter fans reporting that he wants to do something fun for the SP (yay!) and also have 2 quads in the SP and 3 quads in the FS :drama:

wow! Kudos to Kazuki for tackling two new programs despite the pandemic! He's really special.
I really look forward to any interviews and Q/A he might do, as I am starved for information, lol.

Aww, how adorable! I knew the first kiddie photo but because the original video was Sota-centric and blurry, I had no idea the kid atop the podium was Kazuki! ^^ He must have been about 8 or 9 at that time as I think the video mentioned Sota being 7. In the last photo they look like kids having a pajama party, aww... I miss these two. Info about what they said in the FS Life magazine cannot pop up fast enough...

ETA, look, there are many more photos from that broadcast in this blog entry! https://ameblo.jp/kmn-psn/entry-12599732973.html (you need to scroll down a bit) It's adorable how affectionately Kazuki and Sota look at each other! There's no doubt in my mind that they're best friends :luv17: I wonder what they were doing with that cube, it looks like they were answering the questions printed on it.

Awww thank you, Surimi, for the link to the blog! So cute :luv17:
rRainbow posted a translation on Sota's Fan Fest: https://www.goldenskate.com/forum/s...ota-Yamamoto&p=2605884&viewfull=1#post2605884
I'm laughing at Kazuki wanting leather shoes over a car :laugh2:

Also, the blog mentions Kazuki's 25ans interview, in which he said he's like to try Sota's Jekyll and Hyde costume. That reminds me, at Coupe du Printemps 2018 Kazuki, Sota and Hiroaki switched costumes, with Sota wearing Hiroaki's and Hiroaki's wearing Kazuki's, but Kazuki didn't wear Sota's... I wonder if it was because it was too big for him
