I do think he is becoming more soft and flow smoothly on the ice which something I am happy to see and I really love that spin comb so much, hope Kazuki use it in the program

Seems Kazuki will be participating in Kinki Regional Competition which will be held on 5 ~ 8 October. He was the winner of this competition last year.

Finally in this interview, Takahito Mura mentioned Kazuki's FP "Riverdance" as one of the programs that caught his eyes during "The Ice 2018"

I really hope Kazuki do well with that FP this season since it is a challenging one. We will finally have see that program in about a week both when Kazuki compete in Lombardia Trophy (12~16 September) and also the version from "The Ice 2018" which will broadcast on 16 September.

A little belated but I’m so impressed with Kazuki’s hiphop dance. His movements are pretty precise and sharp!

Where can we watch & find the schedule for the Kinki Competition?

Wow, he will be competing against Dai so soon! I think it will be a great experience for him.

Does anyone know how the selection process for the Japanese National works? Does Kazuki necessarily need to win Kinki to go to Nationals?

I don’t think he necessarily need to win. There are 30 spots for Nationals but there are only 6 Regionals in total, I believe? (At least according to this https://www.jsfresults.com/National/2018-2019/fs_e/index.htm )

What are section competitions for? Is it that they compete in regionals and advance to sections before going into nationals? Or are they unrelated?

Somehow prior to this I totally just assumed Kazuki will get a ‘by’ for the qualification comp...but I don’t know the rules so it’s just an unfounded assumption :p

I noticed Kazuki when he was at NHK last year and was so happy when he went to worlds and did well. I am really hoping he has a great season and I can't wait for a first glimpse of his FP next week, love the short :love:

No he doesn't. I think I recall reading that the top 6 from sectionals advance. Last year, Sota was at Nationals when he could only perform single jumps at Chuubu regionals. So I believe Kazuki is in no danger at all. :)

I am also wondering about this. Although I am not putting high hopes since we didn't get any broadcast or even reports about Gensan Summer Cup. But may be things would be different for regional competitions and with this being Daisuke first competition after his come back, I assume there will be more media coverage on it.
