Elena Alekseevna PAVLOVA (Russian: Елена Алексеевна Павлова) and Daniil Vladimirovich PARKMAN (Russian: Даниил Владимирович Паркман) are Pairs skaters who represent Russia.

Elena Pavlova was born on 6 July 2001 in St Petersburg, Russia.

Daniil Parkman was born on 11 April 1999 in St Petersburg, Russia.

They are in Nina Mozer's group. Both are former singles skaters. Daniil was coached by Tatiana Mishina for a short period until he switched to Pairs in the spring of 2015. Elena switched to Pairs in May 2017. She had been a student of Alina Pisarenko for many years.

They only just teamed up in May (Parkman had gone through a few partners before that) but they will be at Mozer's media day/rink "open house" on 23 August, which gives me great hope that this team will last.

I will add more info and also photos in the coming days.

Thanks for starting the thread, and letting us know about this new young partnership.

I just found a video of Daniil from last season with Daria Lobova and, although he is very tall (well, compared to Daria anyway!), he looks so young! And Elena looks really pretty in her Bio pic. So, they will definitely have the cute factor!

Please be aware that I have changed the title of the thread slightly. The reason for this is that there is a former Ice Dancer out there who is also called Elena Pavlova. This older Elena was the first partner for her twin brother, Alexander Pavlov, and went on to marry singles skater Alexander Abt. So, to avoid the potential for confusion, an initial has been added to the younger Elena's name. Just like was done with the threads for the 2 Anastasia Gubanovas.

I have added this thread to the index.

Looking forward to seeing how they develop.

There was already a fanfest with "Anastasia Gubanova" in the title before the second one was made so it was understandable why the "V" was added to the title for the second one. Moreover both girls are teenagers.

There is no fanfest for the older Pavlova to be confused with the current one and to be honest, most people who surf on GS have no idea who Sasha Abt's wife is. And the people who do, are not going to confuse a woman in her 40s with a teenage girl. Just sayin'.

I do agree with you that it is pretty hard to confuse a teenage girl with somebody that is old enough to be her mother. But, when I saw the title for the first time, my first thought was "Oh, that name sounds vaguely familiar". And given that I wasn't even watching Ice Dancing when the Pavlov twins were competing together, this was reason enough to think that it had the potential to cause some confusion.

The thing is, we have to remember that although the Fan Fests are part of GS, people are not just going into them from GS. They are listed in the search engines as well. So, somebody might be taking a trip down memory lane searching for Ice Dancers they remember from 20 years ago, see this thread and think "ooh, Elena".

The aim of the changes going on in the Fan Fests at the moment is to try to make it as easy as possible for people using search engines to find the Fan Fest of the skater they want. So, even though one of them doesn't have a Fan Fest, I still thought doing this would help a little in distinguishing at first glance 2 skaters who competed using the same name.

Anyway, now that we've got everything off our chests, let's get back to talking about this young Pairs partnership.

I actually thought that Parkman wuold be a bit taller than Enbert but based on this pic he is not. In any case Lena and Daniil have a pretty good height difference.

Here is an interview of Mozer where she speaks about all her pairs. Not much about Lena and Daniil there but their pic can be found on the page.

I will update the OP within the next week. Very busy with work currently.

But I have some news. We finally have photos of them skating together, not just in group shots. As you know Mozer had her "open house" event with the Fed and the media today. Several photographers went and one of them being Dmitry Ikunin (the owner of fskate.ru). He took photos of Lena and Danya.

Here they are:

Okay, you can't see her face but it's better than nothing.

If you noticed, Parkman's right hand is currently bandaged. He fractured his wrist (?) sometime in June and at one point his hand and forearm were in a cast. But the cast was removed in July.

They haven't competed much domestically but nevertheless it seems they will soon make their international debut because they are on the entry list of Golden Spin of Zagreb (junior event).

Poor Osipova. After having to skate with the pair beginner Tarasenko she deserves someone better. Parkman has been doing pairs for a while, so if he didn’t get to any decent results at that time, I don’t have much hope for him.

Will have to wait and see what is true and what isn't but it is rumored that Lena would team up with Fedor Klimov. Lena was a good single skater and one day she could be a really good partner but I would have thought that she needs a lot more time before she would be senior ready, or even JGP ready by Russian standards. Parkman might not have been the best partner for her but I doubt he was the only thing holding her back.

Can't wait to see them! At least at Stages of Cup of Russia. I miss Fedor

The rumour is not true. They may have had the try out, but Klimov officially announced retirement so you won’t see him skating with Pavlova at competitions.

Saying that, Mozer recently announced that she has a new senior adult pair that she will announce in December. Then the interview got a bit muddy, it seems that it is not official whether the pair will exist or not, (not sure if either of the skaters needs to get release or where the problem is), but Klimov has been coaching them for a few months and apparently managed miracles with them. So maybe the pair is made from either Pavlova or Zhuk (that’s two pair ladies that are in Mozer’s group that could be potentially pretty decent but don’t have any partner as far as I know. Well, Zhuk has Miroshkin but he is not able to skate at the moment and possibly won’t be for quite a while. His healing has been taking over a year, so he may never be ready for competitive sport).

Anyway, maybe you will see Pavlova (plus a man) skating and Klimov coaching them. Does that count for you?

Viktoria Yatsenko / Daniil Parkman will represent Belarus in the future.

Belarusian skaters begin the competitive period! On August 9-10, the Summer Cup of the Belarusian Union of Skaters will be held on the ice of the speed skating stadium. Competitions will be the first start of the skaters in the 2019/2020 season, where new programs will be presented. The tournament will feature skaters of all categories - from juniors to adult athletes.

At the summer Cup of the NGO “BSK”, the legionnaires - sports pair Victoria Yatsenko and Daniil Parkman will begin their history of performing under the Belarusian flag. Individuals Victoria Safonova and Konstantin Milyukov from the new season will also represent Belarus in competitions. The Summer Cup will become for them a kind of acquaintance with Belarusian colleagues, coaches, and judges.

The Summer Cup of the Belarusian Union of Skaters is a test tournament for representatives of Belarus at the Grand Prix series, which will begin at the end of August. In addition, at the tournament, figure skaters need to fulfill the control standard, since this is not just a competition, but also general rentals of members of the national team.

In addition to the competitive part, the Summer Cup of the NGO “BSK” includes the educational part for judges and coaches. Judge of the international category in ice dancing Alla Shekhovtsova from Russia will hold a seminar where to share useful information about the features of the judging system in the new season.

For the first time there will be an online broadcast of the competition, a link to which is available on Skating.by
