Hi Chris. Will they let me bring my dog into the rink with me so I can cuddle her and stay warm? If so, I might consider coming to Spokane:)

Paul, I think you can get a therapy dog vest and be AOK! Maybe Yasa can smuggle the pup in! She likes dogs....so does Igor S. Did you get my emails? I got no answers....

Is there somewhere on the web where one might find the skaters who will compete at the Pacific Coast Sectionals?
I dont see anything on the website or icenetwork (yet) and the comp starts (for me) Thursday. I would hate to go back to
the regionals and look for the top skaters for all disiplines....

The skater names are on the list of practice groups:

From the Practice Ice section of the website in the OP.

no Senior Ice Dancers

Doris, that means that if there are only 4 senior ice dance pairs on the left coast, they all get a buy, No?
I hate being negative and this is not a critism of anyone but it appears to me that figure skating AS A SPORT is drawing less and less young people, probably for many reasons.
I can think of about 8, actually.
But the end result could be we shall continue to see a decline in bright young talented stars in the US. I am very thankful I got to attend the last 11 nationals and was able to see the current stars coming up through the ranks...cumulating to No. 12, "Shootout in San Jose, fight for the Olympic spots!" Coming to an arena near you.

If there are 4 or less, then they get a bye.

If there are 3 or less, then at least 1 extra couple from another Section also gets a spot due to the fill up rule. Not sure how that is done but my guess is they look at the 5th place finisher from the other two Sections and the one with the top score gets the slot.

Fwiw: South Atlantics is sending 8 Novice Men to Easterns due to the fill up rule.

From the 2017-2018 USFS rulebook, Rule 2511A

Fill-Up Rule: For pair and ice dance events only, if there are four or fewer teams from one or more sections, additional competitors from the same event in other sections will be permitted to enter in order to bring the number of competitors up to a maximum of 12 (or more, if ties make it necessary). These additional competitors will be selected in the order of their placement. Should this result in two or more competitors qualifying for one additional place, all will be included, even if this causes the total number of competitors in the event to exceed 12.

So if there are less than 4 teams at one level/discipline in at least one Sectional competition (AND international byes/automatic invitations don't already make the total 12 or more), then they do go to the next placements at the other sections as you said. But to clarify, if there's only one open spot to be "filled up", both 5th place finishers would get to compete. For example, in 2016 Junior Pairs (before an injury withdrawal) there were 3 out of Pacifics, 5 out of Easterns, and 5 out of Midwesterns.

All the couples competing at the Senior Grand Prix events have received a bye. That includes new senior couples McNamara & Carpenter and the Parsons.

I beg to differ about the decline of young talented stars coming up through the ranks. There are 11 juvenile dance couples competing at Easterns. Wheaton Ice Skating Academy has 15 ice dance teams. And there are other centers of ice dance, like Detroit. I don't know about singles and pairs, but ice dance is not dead!
