I know this will never actually happen for a variety of reasons but, hypothetically speaking, if say, Mura pulled out, would Hanyu be eligible to replace him?

Hanyu would not be eligible as a replacement -- even if USFS were willing to make a replacement for a last-minute withdrawal (whether Mura or anyone else).

Per the announcement for the GP series:
"If a Seeded or “Come-Back” Skater/Couple withdraws from an assigned event, even for medical reasons, that Skater/couple will not be assigned to another event."

With Han's last minute join to the event, the men's event will be much more exciting to watch! :hap10:

Sorry for Cha's withdrawal, but you're very young and needs to heal your body while Han who finally gets out of his long slump and injuries, he needs momentum! He can perhaps aim for bronze or even silver if he make two clean skates and the other men help him (though I want no-splatfest competition in men). Of course, I love Nathan and Boyang's showdown as well as Voronov and Adam's challenge for GPF.

I literally root for every skater to do well. :yahoo:

4 GPF slots for grabs.
The nemesis is Jason Brown at 2-4.

Nathan Chen and Sergei Voronov are almost certain to be in, requiring 5th or higher.

Boyang Jin and Adam Rippon, both 2nd place in their earlier GPS, need 4th or higher. The one that gets 4th will tie-break with Brown. If they both place 2nd and 3rd, both get in.

I hope Adam gets into GPF so that he can have extra practice to turn his 4Lz carrot to 4Lz proper.

there are so many 'spoilers' here:drama: - I think that Nathan and Sergei will maintain consistency, wishing that Adam will do the same, but there is a bunch of skaters that have potential to produce quality and high scores or splat. It would be wonderful to have 3 US men in GPF:)

I am rooting for Adam to Ibiza the whole event.

Come on Adam, get your 4Lz proper rotated and landed. Make Arutunian whisper to you: Luke, I am your father.

Why is Voronov and Han Yan in Group 1 while Samohin and Kovtun and Hendricks in Group 2?

Because Samohin, Kovtun and Hendrickx all have better World Standing than Voronov and Han Yan.

Liam is currently #53 on the ISU World Standings list -- which now would mean second for him in the Skate America start order.

Hugs to Jorik :ghug:.

Sorry about his withdrawal.

Darn about Jorik. Did he say what type of injury? I really like his skating and he really has improved the past couple of seasons. Good news for Liam though.

I love Liam Firus! Such fantastic skating skills-very Patrick Chan-like in his movements. I hope he does well!

I really just discovered this skater at a summer comp this year.

His La La Land FS is charming, and I really want to see it again.

Other than Chen and Boyang, I think the third spot on the podium will be a coin toss between Rippon, Han, Voronov, and even Kovtun, Mura if they skate up to personal best, and even Miner for that matter... I can't figure out how to predict this!!! :hpull:
