Still to compete:
Sergei Voronov (NHK+ SA)
Adam Rippon (NHK + SA)
Alexei Bychenko (NHK + TDF)

Jason Brown's path is a bit easier with Javier and Patrick out of the picture-- but given last year's NHK, I'm not assuming anything Javier Fernandez with 5 points is unlikely to qualify, but he could be a factor at TdF for other people to qualify.

This is Jason vs injury more than it is Jason vs any other skater. I hope they spent the weekend poking and prodding him in every way medically and WADA allowable.

If he is healthy... Jason should be able to get bronze on a bad day and silver on a normal day... heck and gold on a bad Hanyu day. It is just NHK comes with some hefty baggage for Jason...any medal would be a mental victory.

ew @ the fact that theres a chance Wakaba might not make it. She'll surely win the total point tiebreaker though.

B/S are out. 2nd and 3rd with their scores won't cut it with H/D W/P C/B scores/placements and C/L still to debut. They'd have to be major a shake up in the next GPs for them to make it

If is still possible, if H/D get bronze in Japan as that would give them only 22 points compared to B/S 24 points.
Then it would be dance; shibutani; papadakis/cizeron; viture/moir; bobrova/soloview; cappellini/lannotte; chock/bates; weaver/poje

That's seven teams.

If H/D get bronze at NHK that means that the Italians would most likely have silver (and they'll probably get silver at Skate America too). Which would put them ahead of B/S. So if that happens it would be: V/M, P/C, S/S, C/L, C/B, W/P. Even if Weaver/Poje end up third in France they would still win the tie breaker over B/S due to their higher scores. If Chock/Bates are third in France, B/S would only win the tie breaker if C/B's scores are considerably lower since the Russians' scores at Rostelecom were only a few tenths higher than what C/B got in China.

i think Wakaba will make it tbh. Evgnia and Alina is a lock, other spot is probably her and Kaetlyn since she have 1st place advantage in tiebreak. other 2 is between Sotskova, Mai, CaroK, Ashley and Satoko/Polina (yet to skate). hard to predict but i think Sotskova and Ashley won't place above Wakaba, Caro K might be off podium in NHK too with Evgenia, Satoko, Polina and her inconsistency. Mai have smallest chance but if she nailed it in IdF and place 2nd she could go. Ashley sure might get podium in SA since USFS will push her but i don't know if she will win it, if she get silver Wakaba will win tiebreaker

No Yuzuru, no Patrick, no Javier :( this GPF won't feel like one to me without them, especially the 4 times champion

in GPF its probably Nathan vs Mikhail vs Shoma. They have quads, artistry, and pretty consistent (not crazy one but not inconsistent either). Jason and Boyang also probably in, the hard part is to determine the last one. its between Adam/Max/anyone who medals at NHK

Looking very good for Voronov or Rippon for final GPF place if finish in top 2 at NHK. Other contenders likely to cannibalise each other at IDF, and 3rd or 4th at SA behind Nathan Chen and Boyang Jin is likely to be enough.
