Since Japan get an olympic spot for pairs (by NK forfeit) , pairs competition will be more interesting than usual.

yes, indeed. Although Sumire/Francis will probably win but won't get sent anyway. Riku/Shoya was sent to Golden Spin but did they make it to pass the TES minimum?

yes, Miura/Ichihashi achieved the minimum TES at GS. The other 2 pairs already had the minimum.

They got the minimums for 4CC and OG, but not for worlds. I don't know if they got worlds minimums at a previous competition.

I would love Suzaki/Kihara. Just for ear Yuri on ice song at olympics:laugh: and for their SBS 3lz and 3lzth.

Hmm. Live TV coverage is listed up to 21:30 on Sunday 24th...

But team selection announcement for Olympics, World's etc... is scheduled for 22:30 on 24th, about an hour after the last competition ends (the Men's FS), and medal ceremonies.

I hope Fuji has planned a live broadcast of that announcement too...!

So for pairs, the prediction will be that Sumire/Francis can make it to 4CC and WC; Olympics spot will depend on the performances from the rest of the 3 teams; and I guess Rika/Shoya could also be sent again to JWC?

A few more Japan Nationals related broadcasts have been scheduled. All will be aired on Fuji TV
I have edited my original post to include the following:

Thursday 12.21
"Just before the Ladies SP begins!" - 15:50~16:50 (EDIT: "Ladies" have been removed from the title of this broadcast.)

Friday 12.22
"Just before the Men's SP begins!" - 15:50~16:50 (EDIT: As of 12.14 this broadcast no longer appears on Fuji TV schedule.)

Saturday 12.23
"Tonight the conclusion of the Ladies & finally tomorrow the Men's SP!" - 10:25~11:10

So far, looks like there's still no plans to air of the team selection announcement. :( I'll keep hoping~

Will there be a predictions game for this event too??

Of course there will.

I'll be putting the Predictions Threads for Russia and Japan up on Monday, once this weekend's rounds of the Predictions Game are finished.

And if you want to play those rounds, here are the links to the Predictions Threads:

France (starts tomorrow afternoon)
4 Nationals (starts Friday afternoon)
Italy (starts Friday evening)
Germany (starts Saturday) [Erm, I haven't found an Entries list yet, so no thread yet]

Hope this helps

Why are the translated titles so wordy and elaborate?

This reminds me of titles of Haruki Murakami's short stories.

Examples:

THE KIDNEY-SHAPED STONE THAT MOVES EVERY DAY

AEROPLANE: OR, HOW HE TALKED TO HIMSELF AS IF RECITING POETRY

ON SEEING THE 100% PERFECT GIRL ONE BEAUTIFUL APRIL MORNING

And hang on to your mohawks and twizzles and I swear this is real on both Nathan and Boyang's quadruple lutzes.

THE FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE, THE 1881 INDIAN UPRISING, HITLER'S INVASION OF POLAND, AND THE REALM OF RAGING WINDS

And the last one is only for one short story. You can't make these things up even if you want to.
