This is a place to talk about Russian coach Eteri Tutberidze, her skaters, her group, and anything else that might come up! While Eteri isn't the most experienced coach, in the past few years she has coached several of her skaters to great success, primarily on the junior level, but also on the senior level. I also like how she seems very supportive of her skaters- and of course the jacket she always wears to competitions :)

Please feel free to share any news, information, or ideas about Eteri and her skaters here!

Yes, I got bored, it was time for a change. :) And I don't want to be stuck in the past when there are so many good skaters competing right now.

Random question - can someone explain why Eteri is sometimes referred to as "Eteri Bonner" and other times "Eteri Georgievna"? I understand patronymics, but I don't get where the "Bonner" comes from.

Never heard of it either... Could it be some translation glitch?..

There's an example in this article, which is obviously Google translated...so your explanation is probably the most logical. I've seen it in a few other places too.

I very much hope wisdom Etery Bonner, who was and still is my coach

DOES a new Eteri star light up?

Alina Zagitova is first at Kirov Open - 178.06 (first both in SP and in FS, over 50 pts above next rival)

Alina moved to Eteri group only the current season. Her PB before this moving was 139.25
Look how her results grew after it: 154.09, 159.16, 166.73 and now 178.06! Would like to see the video

P.S. Here is the video from 3rd stage of Russian Cup, FS (113.84, TES 63.04) - very clean and solid skate
