I’m one who only started lurking GS at the start of this season, the result of a Google search that led me to a GS thread, which led me to other GS threads, and so on, and so on…I was pretty soon hooked! ;)

I couldn’t even begin to name all the contributors I’ve enjoyed reading (so I won’t in order to prevent my embarrassment of omissions!) – some of you for sound rational thought, some for humour, some for insight of skating analysis, and even those who can be provocatively or outrageously controversial.

This is quite the international community on a board run in English. I want to thank all the users whose first language isn’t English. I marvel at your ability at clarity of expression and eloquence and also for time taken to translate articles and videos for those of us who have never spoken a language other than English. A special thank you to the team of Russians here who have provided so much information and insight into the success of your country’s individual skaters and teams in the sport.

And finally, to the group of GS moderators who keep this board from what could be self-destruction without your efforts to keep the arsonous flaming to a minimum and yet well-debated heat on the front burner.

A very BIG:thank: to all.

Same here. :agree:

Suffice it to say that I am grateful to many, and esp. to gsk8 and the mods.

(Appreciate that Sam-Skwantch and NoNameFace mentioned me. :thank:)

I second all the kind comments to the posters that educate and entertain me. I have only ever started two threads, but I "lurk" on an almost daily basis. Thanks to all who share their expertise.

Just an aside, Mrrice, I'd love to have a drink with you. You seem like such a fun person, and I enjoy the stories of your dancing days.

And El Henry, we are neighbors more or less. Perhaps we could lobby the PPL Center in Allentown to host Skate America!!!

Howdy neighbor!:cool2: I would love l-o-v-e for SA to be at the PPL Center. But there's always the SOI show there in April (no, it's not a comp. But Jason is on the permanent cast. So my tickets are purchased!) Hope to see you there.

And if Mrrice ever comes East, he can join us. :agree2:

What is this nonsense, El?

Everyone is invited except me? I am heartbroken that you have forsaken me, especially considering our mutual Torgeshev celebrations and agonies!

You're the one who got me hooked on Junior Men, and now your're ditching me? :drama:

Your invitation is a permanent one, Tonto, my friend. Particularly if by some miracle Andrew gets invited:agree:

Which is why as much as I enjoy reading these threads about thanking people, I fear to post, because I will forget some excellent GSer, either the ones I agree with, or the ones I disagree with, who makes this Board so worthwhile. I would live in fear of offense.:drama:

But mostly, and this is to underline something you said earlier, to GSk8 for setting up the boards, for keeping them up, and for inviting us on to talk, and to all the mods for helping. As you said, this is not a government public square, this is her place, and we should remember to act like guests.

even if we are the kind that argue at Thanksgiving dinner:laugh:

You are one of the sweetest people on the forum. You totally get my sense of humor, which makes it so much fun to interact with you.

And like any sizeable community, we are going to have our disagreements. And we’ll get over them. In the past month, I’ve put someone on my “ignore” list. But I’ve already “unignored” that person, because she always has something interesting to say. And I don’t even remember what caused me to ignore her in the first place, so it couldn’t have been too serious.

On Goldenskate, what unites us is our love of this sport. I’m so grateful for everyone who works to make this such a great environment.

Myself, I really appreciate 'Body of Work' GS Forum-wise from a lot of people, but mostly the fact that generally speaking, the sum of those individual 'Body of Works' elevates my own skating/forum 'Body of Work' I feel - I am not the most technical person, with knowledge and experience with figure skating, but I am always open and eager to learn from people like e.g. gkelly, whose analysis, detail level in basically every response gives me a boost to learn and discover myself. Then go these 'local' groups of GSers, not only very supportive and informative on their own skates, but with same approach towards others, e.g. Mrs. P, ice coverage, dorispulaski, Mathman, Tonichelle, apgold, Seren, Weathergal, Arriba627, iluvtodd, Stitch Monkey, el henry, Tavi..., elbkup, Heleng, Sam-Skwantch, sabinfire, CoyoteChris, VIETglrTerifa, gravy, ruffledgrouse for US, SarahSynchro, 4everchan, Violet Bliss, Mango, SnowWhite, siberia82, Osmond4gold, ancientpeas for Canada - aside of aforementioned input, there's always a great laugh with You in every topic:laugh:.

Thanks NoNameFace - very tickled to have been mentioned!

I'm so grateful for this forum. I've loved watching figure skating since I was a child (let's just say that's a while ago LOL), and it's so great to not just get information about it but also to be able to discuss figure skating with people who love it as much as I do! I read GS nearly every day - often many times a day! I used to be shier about posting, I didn't know if posters were accepting of a newbie, and I didn't know if I had enough technical knowledge of the sports, etc. Now I enjoy the genuine sense of community here and enjoy posting when I have the time. (I often read more than I post because of time limitations, like we all have!) I now know that people really do mean it when they say "Post long and post often!"

Thanks to everyone for being such a welcome, informative community! :thank:

I just saw this.. sorry for not acknowledging soon. Thank you for all the kind words.

I think I'm a fan of nearly everyone who can make me laugh. So you may not know it but I've probably snorted, giggled or guffawed over a lot of what a lot of you have written (some of this was no doubt unintentionally hilarious) and for that I thank you. Life is too short not to spend as much of it laughing as you can.

I normally lurk here and don't comment much but would like to thank everyone for creating and adding to this wonderful community everyday. I may not agree with everyone but I love the diverse viewpoints here. It's so easy for me to get lost in my bubble but here I am reminded everyday that there are wonderful people out there who agree on nothing except that figure skating is awesome. And that is ok!

I am honoured to be included with the Canadian entertainers. :) Also very fortunate to not be a victim of your cattle prod.

I'll say one thing for you shady Canadians:

You have got to be world champions at finding black market bootleg video streams!

When one stream faltered during the men's final group, people were on top of sending out alternatives. It was awesome!

LOL! I love you for this response!

It has made my night. I'm a cold blooded capitalist, but I'll still "stick it to the man" when they cut off free coverage of the last group.

If I'm on an emergency room operating table, and the doctor says, "We could save you, but we need access to this blocked video stream," I'm going to yell:

Get some Canadians in here! STAT!
