By the way, a year ago they also were saying, that they even had to compete with Cirque du Soleil which had come to Sochi. This summer Cirque du Soleil comes again. From another point of view... one who comes to Sochi can visit both shows, so maybe 2 shows can help each other as well.

:coffee: Artemiy Marinin skates in the "Nutcracker" in Sochi. Maxim Marinin says it was his (Maxim's) idea. He says Artemiy has become better as a skater, so now Maxim isn't shy to show him.

averbukhofficial: They say life gives us only those difficulties which we can overcome. Before yesterday I couldn't imagine, that we could cope with such a stressful situation. We've been preparing to the performance in Verona for nearly a year. I've been keeping myself informed about weather outlook during last month. I kept coming here by plane almost every week, and always the sun was bright. But of course, yesterday Verona was filled up with rain. I'm afraid I can't find the words to tell what was it like for us yesterday. Yet today I want to thank the audience very much - we had more than 8000 viewers. You've been waiting at the entrance for about 2 hours, you steadfastly endured the whole performance, and then you were standing to greet our guys.
I couldn't believe my eyes: in the end you got up, but you didn't hurry to get somewhere where you could warm yourselves, - you got up to show us your respect. Bravo to you!
My team - if you were not assused we could do it guys, I don't know what could be. I was looking for my fear in your eyes, but each of you was saying: "Ilya, we'll do it!" All the technical staff, administration team, the director of the project Ekaterina Tsanava, for whom the project in Verona has been all her life for half a year (to a large extent we should thank her that we performed here). All of you instilled confidence in me that we shouldn't change the date. All of you were ready to go to the ice, even though the ice wasn't ready, you were ready to skate in the driving rain. I want to thank you again and again.
We have conquered the summit which seemed to be a fairy tale a year ago. Now nothing can scare us for sure.
Vivat Verona! Vivat Italy! Thank you, that you let us show what we can do. And of course, we thank the @russian.seasons festival, we were a part of it. I always believed there would be a day, when our work would be taken as an art. This is my main victory. See you in Turin, now nothing can scare us!

I didn't mention this boy before, but he deserves to be mentioned. He had been dreaming of going to the ice in his bare feet - like the skaters do in the final of "R&J". He wanted to show his respect and gratitude to the performers. His name is Lev (I guess Lev Lelekov). A year later he came to see this theatrical again and to thank them all - here he is, in his bare feet

averbukhofficial: We are often asked why we go to the ice in our bare feet. I believe every person should think and find his own answer. Yet I couldn't even dream of such a version! I'm really grateful!

This summer Ilya Averbukh has two teams: he will show "Carmen" in Sochi and "Romeo and Juliet" in Yalta (Crimea). Averbukh also mentions a new performance which he is going to show next summer: it is the "Buffoon wedding" ("Шутовская свадьба"). Alexei Shor is the author of the music.
