Artur really needs to work on his flip edge. The tech panel isn't going to be lenient every time.

I think he has lost an element somewhere. The jumps looked rotated and ok to me.

Maybe. But to be fair the flip is given an "e" in Russia and an "!" internationally, so maybe he was given an "e" plus negative GOE. Could be his steps, I wanna say all Buyanova's kids had levels 2 on steps in one or both programs plus it could be low GOE for spins as I thought he was quite slow. Whatever it was, they cut him a lot.

Protocols are out. It's very much like I said above.

--Yep he got an "e" on the flip and only got 3.18 pts for it. He needs to bury it deeper in the judges blind corner and maybe do what Gogolev does and not jump it in the free. A double axel can surely garner him about a point more.

--Step sequence level 2, like most of his training mates. Got decent GOE and netted 3.27 points for it. But for example, he got a level 4 at JrW during his SP and netted over 5 pts for that and here he got 2 points less due to a lower level and less GOE.

--Fly camel spin only a level 3 with extremely low GOE (0.20) it was so slow. To be fair this was not his best spin 2 season ago either. I would argue the fly camel is his absolute worse spin. Two seasons ago this spin was even slower than it was here so there was some improvements there but not enough, he also only had 3 features hence the level 3. The second spin (change sit) got even less GOE (0.09), also very slow and some judges gave him negative marks for it. I don't think I've ever seen him get 0.09 points in GOE on a spin before :(

--The 3 axel is arguable his best jump so he got his best GOE on that element.

--The Lutz also a great jump for him but since his toe loop is his worse jump (along with the flip) that brought down the GOE on the combo to almost nothing (0.17). But to be fair he didn't have a lot of flow out of it.

He lost so many points in levels and GOEs. It's a pity he couldn't have done a competition before this one to sort all this out. If he gets all these sorted out and can manage an "!" on the flip his score will be pretty high.

ETA: on re-watch his flip wasn't even in the blind corner, the judges could quite clearly see the edge. They need to push that out more into the corner like at JrW.

Also, hold the presses. My original thought during his skate was that his 3lz/3t did not seem to be in the bonus. Guess what, it was not so he got no bonus for that :palmf: So now they will have to go home and redo his SP to where his combo is in the bonus (otherwise why jump it last?). They will either have to delay it (it's over 10 seconds too early) or he will have to switch his second spin and combo around. I say switch around the combo and 2nd spin otherwise if he delays it, it will be a mad dash to get the footwork and the last 2 spins done in the allotted time unless they cut the footwork down by 15 seconds.

See this is why I was worried after seeing the rest of CSKA skaters so far and their low levels and such. If he does only 2 combos in the free like Iakovlev, I may flip. Surely he will not but you never know.

With all that said, good luck in the free. Do your best :agree:

This is really stupid from his team :dev2:

Yes and it may cost him his second spot in Yerevan if he finishes 5th or lower, just like jumping 2 combos in the free (twice) cost Kirill the final. Which is sad because even though he is in 6th, he has skated so much better in the SP than most of the other skaters so far except 4 and all those guys got 2nd assignments. It's not his fault this field is stacked. And you can tell he's a priority within the group since Elena traveled with him and not Marina like she normally does and they still overlooked so much. Hopefully all this gets corrected before his next competition. Yerevan, if he keeps it, may be too soon for him to make so many changes because we don't know how many issues there is going to be in the free skate. I pray he adds no combo to his flip in the FS like last season for obvious reasons :palmf:

Honestly I think Buyanova took on too many students. Some things should not have gone unnoticed.

But honestly since he just grew 8 cm over the past few months and had to take a break in jumping, I think he did really well. I'm really proud of him that he kept it together and performed well. I hope he can do equally as well in the free and move up to 4th. I want smiles in the KnC, not shock and disappointment :(

He looks great jump wise and the flip looked better today. Too bad about the loop but he seemed happy so I'm happy. Almost won the free (<1 pt shy). And he got the highest PCS  Higher PCS than Petr (in all categories), Koshiro, Tomoki and Conrad (only lost in SS to those last 3, I agree with that)!!! That's so great for a 14 yo!!!

I hope he gets to keep his Yerevan spot. He may have finished 5th to Murashov's 4th but he was in a much tougher field with guys 2 years or more older than him most with medals from previous events. Also he outscored Murashov by 20 points!!! And most importantly he skated great overall except for a few levels here or there. Buyanova must work on these footwork levels. Level 2 will not cut it :drama:

He is one of the medalist at the last junior world. I am sure the federation will keep him on the roster.

Danielian scored and performed well in Ljubljana

Danielian finished fifth in the final stage of the junior Grand Prix in Ljubljana, scoring a total of 210.49 points. According to the results of the short program, the skater was in sixth position with a score of 69.30 points. During the performance of the triple flip, the judges fixed the wrong rib. In the free skate the athlete took the second position (141.19). Competitions in the capital of Slovenia were debut in a season for Danielian, who is recovering from injury.

“For the first start, Artur spoke very well, in my opinion,” Buyanova said on the phone. “I do not consider his estimate for the rental of the short program to be correct, because the elements were all performed adequately. I agree with the assessment of the flip, but not with the others. I believe that he proved it in an arbitrary program, all the jumps were performed qualitatively, he has an excellent second grade, extensive skating and excellent programs that go to him. He rolls them with pleasure. "

“Artur had big problems (with health) and, in principle, they remain, but within a month he managed to get together and show good skating. I congratulate our entire team, we are, of course, happy, and we will prepare for the next start,” added a specialist.

Man I hope she really sits down with her team and effectively evaluate Artur's protocols in the SP and the LP :palmf: Rhetoric like this does not help him. Otherwise we may not see any changes to the SP which needs some overhauling :slink: I can't speak for the footwork but when all your students show up with level 2s, I'm inclined to believe the Tech panel here. Gubanova and Tsurskaya have competed multiple times and still have level 2s :palmf: The combo jump is clearly before the bonus, hell I timed it, it is 14-15 seconds too soon from his lutz takeoff and the landing of the toe was not the best. The fly camel really is only a level 3 plus it and the sit (IMO) were slow and could have been performed better. What is there not to agree on here

RemyRose – thank you for the pics and the links. :)

I think Artur did great and he can be very proud of himself. He has not competed for a long time, he couldn’t prepare well for this season, had to refrain from jumping for quite some time. And he indeed grew a lot – I still remember how tiny he looked even beside Buyanova last year. I’m actually surprized that his jumps look great and very stable taking into account the practice break and the growth sprint. Maybe spins also have been affected by the injury and he wasn’t allowed to practice them an awful lot? In any case Artur has shown good nerves and consistency and that’s something to recommend yourself to Russian Fed. ;) And I love his programs and how he skated here!

Regarding his coaching team and the levels in Artur’s case I’d like to say let’s wait and see. Buyanova isn’t a genius in milking the judging system to put it mildly, but to be fair the other juniors had their programs checked during the test skates, tech specialists had analyzed their programs regarding levels etc., so coaches got a feedback on this before their skaters entered the competition. And judging from Buyanova’s interview preparation was really difficult. I give her credit for not rushing things here even if it meant a long practice break and a bad season start. You could also see in Artur’s face how relieved and emotional he was at the end, even the commentator pointed that out. Currently I’m mostly concerned about his health. :( I’m worried that Byanova says he still has health problems and to be honest I’m even happy he won’t qualify for the GPF as that probably would have meant intensified jump practice and here in particular quads. The most important thing now is to stabilize his health so that he may have a long and successful career in seniors later on, who will then care if he qualified for GPF at age 14 or not. :noshake:

Artur Danielian: The tasks for the season are to ride cleanly, confidently, and also to preserve and restore health to the end, this is the most important thing! google translated

October 6 in Ljubljana (Slovenia) ended the sixth stage of the junior Grand Prix in figure skating. In the singles tournament, the Russian player Peter Gumennik won with a total of 219.25 points for two programs. The second is Tomoki Hiwatashi from the USA (215.16), the third is the Japanese Koshiro Shimada (212.95). Russian Artur Danielian, who showed the second result in a free skating program, is fifth in terms of points (210.49). Artur Danielian told Alexey Zubakov about his performance, coaches, programs and tasks of the season.

- How do you evaluate the beginning of the season?

- Start in Slovenia, Ljubljana, in principle, pleased. There were shortcomings, the short program went quite well, but I didn’t feel the satisfaction, somehow I felt like a messy sensation, not so much in jumping, but in general! I was satisfied with the free program, but the error on the loop (double) spoiled the whole impression, both for me and for the coaches, and, probably, for many people who watched my performance. But, nevertheless, I am glad that I finally made it, started the season, and very well!

- Tell us about your programs.

- The short program was done by Nikita Mikhailov with Tatiana Anatolyevna Tarasova, free program by Nikita Mikhailov. Thank you very much to Tatiana Anatolyevna Tarasova for participating in the short program, Nikita Mikhailov for such wonderful programs, I really like them! A short program is for me a new image, cheerful, perky, which I should roll with pleasure and also give it to judges and spectators. Free program is an image more familiar to me. This playful classics where I perform as the conductor! Thanks a lot also to Peter Tchernyshev, he helped to remake the steps a little!

- Immediate plans?

- The next start at the junior Grand Prix stage in Armenia, the day after tomorrow I am already flying away, I am not relaxing. Tune in to even better, more confident rentals! And then we'll see. Most likely, I will devote more time to treatment, recovery from injury, in order to be fully prepared for the rest of the starts. Everything will be fine! I will tighten up my spins and also accelerate them, but for now I do as I can!

- Main goals?

- The tasks for the season are to ride cleanly, confidently, and also to preserve and restore health to the end, this is the most important thing!

I would also like to thank the whole coaching staff Elena Germanovna Buyanova-Vodorezova, Marina Leonidovna Selitskaya, Irina Anvarovna Tagaeva, Maxim Igorevich Zavozin, Alexander Uspensky. Thanks to all the coaches that supported and waited for me on the ice, when I was recovering, Marina Leonidovna, went with me to the doctors, we were looking for an option that helped us. Thanks to our doctors, masseur. It is still not as good as I would like, but a little is left. It is necessary to wait, endure and not think about it. Thank you all so much for your support and faith in me. I will try to continue to skate better and better!
