some episodes which I liked:

Yagudin: Tell me, please, who does participate in choosing music? Do you? Or your coach just comes and says: "Alyona, here is the music, here is the program!"
Alyona: We just had a dance to this music on a jazz lesson.
Yagudin: Do you also have jazz lessons?
Alyona: Yes. /.../ I have choreography lessons, body-conditioning, jazz, ice.
Yagudin (worried, but quiet): School?
Alyona: Yes. I have school.
Yagudin: Brothers, sisters?
Alyona: Two sisters.
Yagudin: Pets?
Alyona: A turtle.
Yagudin: Really? You are not an ordinary child. So you have three sisters and a turtle... and jazz lessons... oh, oh, oh... Do you ever have a rest?
Alyona: No.
Yagudin (smiles): You'd like to, wouldn't you?
Alyona: No.
Yagudin (smiles): You wouldn't? You are right, it's too early to rest.

Yagudin: Tatiana Anatolievna?
Tarasova: I'd leave her in the list to think once again about taking her to the project, even though she's not disappointed...
Yagudin (hastens to help): No, no, no! We are disappointed, Alyona, aren't we?
Alyona: I'm not.
Yagudin smiles, shows he can do nothing - and it's a pity

Mikheyeva: Lyosha, you know, I'm worried, that these guys can even replace us! They are so great, that they can win not only as a pair, but as single skaters as well.
Yagudin: I know nothing about your feelings, but as for me, only my cohosts are replaced, it seems I stand here safely.

Thank you for the translation. Like all reality shows, of course Ice Age Kids is a bit cheesy, but it is a showcase for a cast of wonderfully talented skaters-and certainly it raises the profile of the sport. I wish we had a version in the U.S. It is difficult to skate on a studio rink, huge props to the kids who manage to do it effortlessly.

Will there be guest appearances with the current champions? I'd love to see any of the Khrustalniy Awesome Aces in some fun choreography show number, or even Lara Croft, Dos Cadenzias, Unstoppable or the Fairy turned Fierce Samurai again ...

That studio rink is not competition size, but still quite large enough.

flanker, if you read this, your compatriot says hello.
Do I understand correctly that Barbora says "Czech Republic, сheer for me"?

Czech accent quite funny :)

Short preview clip of today's show: https://www.1tv.ru/-/zdson

Showing the rink under remodelling, kids explaining some jumps, etc.

Will there be casting episodes elsewhere, or does the show stay in Moscow?

Didn't have an idea, I watched only briefly some videos from the last week. If I would know I would have been cheering for her, she is absolutely cute. I suppose she wasn't chosen (also I don't understand the rules closely)?

she will be taken at the end;)

The rules are simple - mentors recruit children into their teams, according to the principle "I like it - I do not like it." But many go to the reserve, and can be taken later. Then when they compete with each other they will be judged by the system 6.0.

Wait, doesn't she say that in Czech? i hear something like "Cheska republika fun<something> za mne"

Will try to watch the whole episode without cringing at the blonde bimbo host.

Veronika Zhilina, born in Arkhanelsk, way up North on the Arctic Ocean, is a little Trusova mk II, strong and powerful like a gymnast.

And she has that same fire inside her, skating to Sia's Chandelier!

She is not shy to quietly brag a little about her skills, being so confident already ;-)
"I entered myself into this project to win" and she remained unfazed by Yagudin chatting with her after the skate, just radiating sparkling confidence.

She'll be one of the more interesting participants for sure, most likely the yardstick the other contestants will be measured against.
She choose Averbukh as her captain, but I am not sure he already accepted?

One would assume the contestants will be equally divided over the teams after the casting has finished, as I cannot imagine the appeal of the bearded guy with the cap (Kostomarov) on these very young kids.

There was Gleb Kovtun, related to Maxim, and with a visible resemblance.

PS: the show has very good camera work, closely following the skaters from different views. We have seen much worse in recent JWC, bravo TV1!
No resources spared here. And this probably required a considerable amount of run throughs, both to train the operators and to make the kids feel confident under the spotlights with the boom cam hovering over them.

PSS: really liked the interaction between the pairs boys and girls. When most kids have reached 'the awkward age' and feel insecure with the opposing gender, these kids behave normal and respectful towards each other, like in all sports where girls and boys are treated equally and compete together.

Yes of course. How can he refuse if he has already pressed the green light, that is confirmed that he wants her to his team?

Yes, I've watched the show till the end now, and Zhilina is part of Averbukh's team.
She will be hard to beat though, her skating level at age 10 is almost 'hors de concours'. And she is spunky, cuteness personified, which always goes well with the public vote.
Like Yagudin said, Zhilina is already under the attention of many specialists in figure skating and no doubt the studio audience and other contestants know this.
But of course in a TV show anything can happen. Hopefully the kids won't get too cocky as their Western counterparts in likewise talent shows.

Glad none of the kids broke down in tears after receiving four red lights and the verdict to try better next time. I suppose the best ones are kept in reserve to fill the remaining slots when 'competitive casting' phase has been closed.

Really like the intro videos, with the kids showing they draw and paint, are proud over their bookcases and literacy. Rare these days when many kids are only displaying their boredom on social media.

And again they didn't take such tremendous talent as Marasanova :bang:
I suppose it's not only their fault though - but russian unnaturally deep field of young talents here is to blame too. So they are deciding each time to wait and see since they know very well that there definitely will be more talents ahead. It's hard to imagine any other country where girls such as Marasanova would be discarded from any show. Here is her performance:

Maybe I don't understand you... Do you think, that Kostomarov and his beard are too scary, so it will be difficult for him to collect kids for his team? After the first day Kostomarov had 3 (skaters or pairs), Trankov had 3, Navka had 3, Averbukh had 2.

As far as I remember, each of them is going to take 3 girls, 3 boys and 3 pairs. A coach who doesn't have 3 when they stop watching the kids, will choose skaters he needs among those kids who are not taken yet (those kids who saw 4 red lights). They did the same a year ago.

Unnaturally?? :coffee: How can a talent be unnatural?

This show is a lot better than I remember it being last year... last year I found it kind of boring.

I do wish they'd just take the best of the Zhuk memorial nationals. There's a bit too wide an age range and while I enjoyed all except one of the girls(I'm in the middle of watching the boys and dance) I can't help but think some of them were selected to make the best ones stand out even more.

I think it was better last year. Well, at least the girls field. There are only a couple of girls that I’m interested in/find lots of talent. They’re all talented but this is just my opinion. But maybe I’ll be proved wrong 🤷🏼*♀️
