Can't think of a phrase with "ведь" that you may be referring to. Actually, I don't think there is a single phrase that covers it.
Agree, I can't think of a standard phase either...

Something along the lines of "Ты ведь зто не всерьёз!". --- Literally, " You can't be serious!". -- would convey the same sentiment.

But Zhenya is seriously committed to moving forward as an athlete.

...As are others from other places who are choosing international training centres in Europe, Russia, and Canada.

I find this cross-pollination exciting and it sends a positive message in a year in which the international politics around sport have been fraught.

For Zhenya, this season, while I understand why Orser and the TCC team will wish to start with David Wilson as a choreographer, I would like to see her delightful personality shine through. I share concern about weighing her down with a warhorse.

Oh, so they meant Zhenya's dress for LP 2015-2016 :) I thought they were talking about costumes made by Olga for some pair skaters or ice dancers (I mean W/E = someone like T/M = Tarasova/Morozov) :D
This was my 2nd favorite Zhenya costume.

Guys! We talked about music and I had some sort of revelation.

Today I was watching Chronicles of Narnia and while crying over my brownie for dying Edmund (I read the books so I knew he'd live but it was still touching as hell) some voice inside me told me "Hey! This move has good music! Music! Figure skating! ZHENYA!". I loved the soundtrack even before I saw the movie but I guess music being incorporated into the picture was even more meaningful for me than before.

Interesting thought...

Not overused, but definitely has the benefits of a strong movie theme...

And I can definitely imagine Zhenya as Susan...

Keeping the thought process going, I'm wondering if there are any skate-able anime themes out there that would suit her...Kevin Reynolds pulled off a couple of programs with anime-inspired music...

Or even something more out there in 20th Century Russian music. There's a lot beyond the classics/warhorses that doesn't get much profile in skating, but that a skater with Zhenya's maturity and expression could pull off.

The lullaby reminded me about the soundtrack of The Witcher 3 (this one for example, but the soundtrack is very diversified) , I wonder if it would be appropriate for a FS program...

So...no one’s asked the most important question yet. Do you think Orser will flat out ask her to stop doing Tanos? I wonder if they bug him. :slink:

Well, Evgenia adores Yuri on Ice, and as a fellow fan I would endorse her doing something from the series as an ex or competitive number. The OP, the SPs and FPs for Yuuri and Yurio are all neat. She could also pick moments from the OST as well.
For flamenco feels, Eros: https://soundcloud.com/shitsujikuro/on-love-eros-yuri-on-ice

The soundscape of a cathedral evoked in Agape: https://soundcloud.com/shitsujikuro/on-love-agape-yuri-on-ice

Another recent show, ACCA 13, the OP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pITNm95Sd1k

Plenty of older shows with great music!

How about the OP for the classic Utena: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HL25C0H9vVw

Tank! the OP from Cowboy Bebop is wonderful and mentioned by other above. Speaking of Yako Kanno's music the OST for Escaflowne is dramatic and cool. "Dance of Curse" for epic Carmina Burana feels https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Mmk5-BArIw for example.

The first ED from Natsume Yuujinchou is lyrical and a bit heartbreaking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=no5o2ioZBHs

Similar mood for the ED of Fantastic Children: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0tcPj81Mt0

The OP from Bokurano: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05p646nlYS0

I have my doubts.
First of all, tanos still could count for GOE, and her tanos are pretty decent. I mean, nothing close to Sotskova's helicopter arms, for example.
Also, I recall that she said in one interview that once you learn to tano on a jump, its sometimes harder to actually do it without tanos.
Last but not least, tanos are beautiful. I do not see why someone would prefer chicken wings jumps over tano and rippon jumps.

If anything, I hope Orser gets her to learn more arm variations, like I recall a skater was jumping with the arms behind her back, for example.

I have to disagree with you here. For me, jumps are most beautifully executed when the arms are tightly secured in one's chest. Take Carolina, for example. Her jumps are textbook for me and I guess I'm just old-fashioned as I enjoy her jumps the most. Polina has beautiful jumps too and Kostornaia. Rippon's are nice too, but i don't want them to be in every jump. I'm actually looking forward to seeing Evgenia jumping the "normal" way, if indeed that is Brian's plan.

This is a matter of personal opinion.

I am looking forward for Evgenia doing more tanos and rippons, and learning other arm variations for extra GOE, and hoping that Orser will not touch her beautiful tanos.

I actually suspect that he will keep the pointgrabbing strategy, since Zhenya can actually do it, unlike most other skaters.
And i am eagerly waiting for the people who will suddenly change their mind and say tanos are beautiful because it is orser's skater, not just another pointgrabby russian =P

I got your point and I wasn't even around at the time to see that epic rivalry. I think he may prefer rippons, mainly.
