You're about to publicly try and make someone feel ashamed for spending a fortune on getting two seconds with some actors from some TV series to obtain autographs and a photo at a convention in a foreign country...
and then remember that you've been spending even bigger fortunes on going to foreign countries with figure skating events. And didn't even get a photo with the skaters or even their autograph to show for it. (although to be fair, I don't want photos or autographs, I prefer staying away from the skaters.)

With some of the off-season drama we had recently, let's have a light-hearted discussion, shall we :

You know you're a figure skating fan when...

...you stay up in the middle of the night to watch a competition that is taking place on the other side of the world, even though you have work or even an important exam the morning.

...you replay your favourite performance after the competition, many, many times. After your third re-watch, you start seeking out the performance with other network commentaries (CBC, B.ESP, NBC, Матч, TDP, etc.). After your eighth re-watch, in which you probably have memorized the performance frame by frame and also the audience and the coach's reaction to particular elements, you proceed to find the skater's/skaters' performance of the program in other competitions during the season to see the improvements and/or differences ;).

I'm a fan....I've watched Aljona and Bruno 27 (!) times.
And will do so again. Hi Hi!

I knew this would be a very hard year to be a fan because I knew a couple of my favorite skaters would likely retire. Fortunately, I have been saved by Joseph Phan....Patrick Chan Jr. and Camden Pulkinen.....Max Aaron Jr.

You arrange your ENTIRE social calendar, workout time, and errands around when you will be on the couch watching competitions. Or of course looking at the boards here and on FSU. This time is non-negotiable for doing other things.

When you text your sister who doesn't follow FS at 5 in the morning to tell her that your favorite skater won a big competition.

Best part is she texted back asking for a link to watch the performance herself, my enthusiasm must have affected her

When after rushing to a Pilates class immediately after watching Anna Pogorilaya’s FS Worlds 2017 you believe you are having a heart attack and end up spending all day in the ER. Diagnosis? Panic Attack

... when you can expertly critique Vera Wang's skating costumes,

But you have no idea what kind of "regular" clothes she designs, and frankly you don't care.

When you....
- book holidays from work so you can watch comps live
- watch full documentaries in a language you don't speak at all so you don't miss something
- spend hours sifting through skaters videos and articles about them instead of socialising or doing housework 😂
- invent new routines and choreography in your head at work
Maybe I need to get out more??!! 😂🙂😂😂

You know you're a figure skating fan when you freak out when you hear Feeling Good, POTO, or any other warhorse being played.

...when your favourite skaters announce they are skating to a warhorse and hope that they can give a fresh, new interpretation.

When you hear a piece of music (from the radio, on in the mall etc), you figured out who skated to this music before you figured out the title and performer of the song/music

...when a skater's performance to a song is the music video for that song.

You arrange your ENTIRE social calendar, workout time, and errands around when you will be on the couch watching competitions. Or of course looking at the boards here and on FSU. This time is non-negotiable for doing other things.

...when your next six weekends are booked to watch FS during the grand prix season.

You enjoy having the exact same argument over and over again

...when you have the same argument with the same posters across different threads on GS knowing their position by heart but holding a faint hope that you can convince them ;).
