Hanyu desperately seeks another Hanyu to make a pair...

And every Hanyu that he could find will refuse to skate with him since he will shine too much. Even beating Guillaume Cizeron "look at me aura"

Yeah, has that ever actually happened at a big comp? Music going off?[/QUO
Oh yes, it has happened, several times. Rodnina and Zaitsev were skating in Europe, their music died and they continued without it. The referee was going crazy, but they just continued and went on to win. Don't forget, back in the day it was reel to reel tapes, sometimes a record, cassettes - all of these were easy to break, screw up, etc. Everything being digital now it's more secure I imagine, but gremlins can still wend their way in.

You lot inspire me, so I have a few more to put in.

ISU congress proposes that Russian skaters will be allowed to compete both at Europeans and 4CC because - after all - only part of Russia lies in Europe, but the greatest part of the country is Asian. Netherlands and France support this (both having islands geographically located in South America) on the condition that they can do this too (even if they have no skaters to join in), and the proposal passes. The US is very angry as they consider the UK to be part of them since Brexit. So, they should be able to compete at Europeans too (and they did in the distant past, but that's another story)!

Although Aliona loves coaching, and also to her joy gets pregnant and bears twins (a boy and a girl), she misses the competitions. During her pregnancy she can only practice steps, spins and spirals and no lifts and jumps, and as she gets really good at them, she eventually returns on the ISU competitive scene as an ice dancer. Bruno is with her all the way. They get third at Worlds 2020, second in 2021, but at the Olympics have to settle for the bronze. Both Bruno and Aliona make a mistake on the twizzles.

Robin S. decides 'enough is enough' and returns to competition as an ice dancer too. He finds himself a partner in Loena Hendrickx who after her World Championship Gold in 2020 is at a crossroads. They get coached by Loena's brother Jorik who has since 2018 specialised in ice dance choreography. They win a Team Bronze for Belgium in 2022. There's suddenly a big wave of single's, pairs and dance skaters in that country.

Meagan Duhamel returns as well, as she was getting bored with being a technical specialist. Although she also wished to go to ice dance, her husband convinces her that this is not for her and she stays with pairs skating. Her new partner (as Eric has become a well-known composer) is someone totally unknown at the moment but he's very good in assisting jumps. Together they get a silver in the 2022 Olympic Games, mostly due to their quad throws (a Salchow and a Flip) and their spectacular side by side triple axels.

The gold in pairs in 2022 will be won by a Chinese pair (nothing crazy about this particular prediction), but regrettably not by Sui/Han who end up being fourth. No, it's Boyang Yin together with Lu Chen who has come out of retirement and wished to do pairs. It's such a surprise outcome that it even catches the News in The Netherlands.

well, I hope these are crazy enough...

THIS. I mean... Yang Jin would be better but Lulu would do. *sniffs*
They are coached by Lu's husband and choreographed by her daughter.
Their side by side double-axels-triple-lutz-quad-loop combo win them +100 PCs.
NBC was not amused.
In a surprising twist, after their win, her daughter comes out and lands a quad-axel-qint-walley in celebration. She was automatically given the singles OGM due to bribes by the Chinese fed.
Eteri and Borser both faint from outrage.

16 yuzurudaughter suddenly has a new favourite skater : Patrick Chan
17 mervin tran decides to skate for Canada
18 the isu, in an attempt to remove national bias, imposes neutral costumes with face masks to all skaters. It becomes impossible for judges to know who is on the ice, as music is also the same for each skater. The identity of a skater is revealed only in the kiss n cry after judges' marks and without them being able to see whom they have marked.
19 as Kaetlyn Osmond is not doing GP, but GPF is in Canada, she obtains special permission to compete on home soil and wins it all with her brand new 3a. She becomes the first lady to land a program of only triple jumps : 3A-3T, 3A, 3F-3t, 3f, 3S, 3Lz, 3L... The internet breaks down as she didn't include a 3 jump combo and people question "her capacities"

Kolyada unfortunately does not land the sbs 4Lz at Worlds. Trusova is extremely disappointed and asks if Gogolev would skate with her for Russia.

I wouldn't mind Yuzu move back to Japan and return to his childhood coach Nanami Abe and have his mum design his new costume, and still win everything. Nanami knows him so well, get to choreograph a new program for him with a local choreographer in Japan. I would love to see the magic of his 1st R&J return... into something fresh and new, something Japancentric. No repeat please!! EVER!!!

(Yes somewhat juxtaposed Yuna Kim's journey, but it is sweet when you prove you can do it on your own.. full circle, back to the beginning.)

Team TCC is going to dominate the 2018-19 season

I thought it was the turn of the World Team Trophy in the 2018-19 season. That's what the ISU Calendar PDF says, anyway:

As the Team Challenge Cup was supposed to alternate with the WTT, the second edition of the TCC would have been due to be held in the 2017-18 season.

Given that it wasn't held, I take it the powers that be have realised what we all did as soon as the details were announced: that the format doesn't work.

(I do like the idea of a team competition for continents, though, and would love to see the TCC replaced with one that is run to the same format as the WTT).

crazy prediction: Kostner will dominate the ladies field next season

Why?
The rule changes favor her (limited backloading bonus, emphasis on hight and lenght of jumps and quality in general, relative upgrading of flip BV, upgrading of choreoseq)
Alina will struggel with the pressure, growing, fame etc resulting in maybe loosing her 3l combo.
Med is in a transition period, they think towards next Olympics. They will change her teqnuique, her style. A lot of adapting going on
Osmond is tired and already pulled out of grand prix
Satoko is one of the biggest looser of the rule changes (rightfully so)
Tanell will not necessarily become more graceful therfore low PCS. No other US lady around
Honda is a big question mark could be supertop or flop
Dalemane, kaori will be in the mix but not really at the top
Tukta comming back with 3a or not?
polina, and sotskova will be in the mix but not really at the top
sotnikova and radionova will become more and more frustrated and give up

Yuzu learns the 4A, 5S and 4T+4T this season from Mr. Brian Awesome and announces his hunt for the OWG Hattrick.
There he skates his SP to Yagudin's Winter and his FS to Plushy's Nijinsky to become the 100% unquestionable GOAT. Eventually.
At the EX gala he does a throw octuple Axel with Pooh-san, announces his retirement and starts THE career as a beekeeper to ensure a honey supply for life.

TCC was a mess but i appreciated the effort. Honestly i am not sure we should have a team event in the Olympic years though... the skaters are exhausted enough. But in the non-Olympic years between WTT... yeah let's have Continent competition! One that bloody includes Australia! But if it is every four years... it should have something extra. It could be a great time to introduce "jumps contest" to the masses. It is mid cycle so the risk of injury/fatigue is less... have some fun ever four years with a bit of an X games format on top of the traditional team event. Once every four years we could easily have a team event that also has some playful elements. It actually could be a good way to get people a little interested in skating mid cycle... or at least maybe get it back on their radar.
