Daisuke's new SP: The Sheltering Sky, by Ryuichi Sakamoto, choreo by David Wilson,
LP: Pale Green Ghost, by John Grant, choreo by Benoît Richaud.

Interesting choices, particularly the LP. Can't wait.
Intrigued on the edit and which version of the Sheltering Sky. Will they use a new cover version or the original OST. It is the most John Barry like Japanese composer rip off ost, but later Piano rendition version by the composer himself have elevate it to something special.

In the article Daisuke says, "I hope in SP I will be able to express its world firmly, with the idea overflowing in the choreography and with its piano melody. For LP, a unique choreography brought out a new style.”
Either way, he knows he is good at skating to the piano music.

Another comment from Shoma Uno from an interview at The Ice, translated by shoma-uno.tumblr.

Daisuke Takahashi has returned to competition.

S: It’s amazing that even after the generation change, he still told himself, ‘let’s do this’. My favorite thing about him is his personality, so I hope to be able to converse with him and talk about a lot of things with him at competitions.

Dai chan skating a bit https://twitter.com/VKSpBzpeRPLtx8U/status/1024598822729670657

that axel, those steps  bless

That's what I'm counting on exactly - bringing back an absolute best of his skills on display like a celebration of his skating, who he is, what his signature is. Adding that 'old charm' of previous FS era/period when his footwork, musicality, interpretational skills were second to none. He is my sentimental favourite mainly because of that unique treatment for music he has, the fluidity in movement. I am really envious of those who will be that fortunate and see him live this season:)

Dai appeared on "Kansai Figure Skating Stars Festival" during yesterday's The Ice broadcast on Kansai TV (together with Nobu, Marin, Miyu, Satton, Mai, Kaori and Kazuki).

Unsurprisingly he didn't want to make a fuss about his unretirement and wouldn't have held a press conference for the announcement at all if it had been up to him. He had planned to just resume competing without further fanfare (the same way he initially planned to retire in 2014). Of course just like back in 2014 people wouldn't let him get away this easily. :roll5:

Yes, I just read on Twitter:

Daisuke Takahashi reported as follows:
Lately, I have been training to return to competitions; however, I had an injury while I was practicing. According to the exam, I got diagnosed with a mild degree of strain of an abducent muscle on my left leg.

get well soon!
