A friend of mine who met Scott Davis @ 1998 US Nationals asked me about him the other day. I think he's coaching now, but can anyone confirm that?

Yes, he’s a coach now. One of his former students was Vaughn Chipeur. He’s also an ISU Tech Specialist. I’m pretty sure he still lives in the Calgary area with his wife and daughter.

ETA: Scott was tech specialist for the 2006 Worlds Mens event. :)

Several years ago, Irina and her young son were in one of Kristi Yamaguchi's Family and Friends TV ice specials. They did a cowgirl/cowboy routine that was adorable and fabulous. Somehow that program and music seemed (to me) to fit Irina's personality and skating style to a T!

I saw it on TV!

BTW:

Scott Davis was one of the coaches teaching at USFS High Performance Camp this summer. (aka: ISP Camp.)

And Scott was one of the "celebrity judges" -- along with none other than your Todd :) -- for this year's Aerial Challenge competition for ladies.

(Vincent Zhou and Josh Farris were the celebrity judges for Aerial Challenge men.)

What happened to John Baldwin, Jr. and his father? Their tax/legal problems were in the news this past spring, but there's been no further news.

We were lucky enough to attend that show live (@ Penn State University). Irina looked great & her son is adorable!

Liza Tuk get a new program done and want to include (and still training) 3Lz+3T and 3A back in FS! She posted vids of her landing 3A but not 3Lz+3T. As for Anna P. she have regain all triples back, no 3-3 yet but already doing 1lo-3S combos. She hope to do few challenger since she got no GP

Good for her! And who knows, she just might get a spot in one of the gps (although I’m not sure Russia has any tbd spots)...

Can a knowledgeable fan tell me what's going on with Daichi Miyata? I was just browsing some archives today, stumbled upon his name again after a good while, and recalled I hadn't seen him in the last Nationals although he was apparently good enough to be sent to intl competitions in the 2016-17 season. Is he injured, retired, or just couldn't keep up?
