This, I hope, is going to be fun. I was just rewatching (again for the umpteenth time) Aliona and Bruno's free skate at Worlds, and then I noticed Bruno's popping eyes at the mentioning of the scores. I'd noticed it before, but I suddenly thought this might be a good way to celebrate skating: reactions to good scores, placements, whatever. But I'm just wondering...any other such beautiful skaters' reactions to a score? It can be popping eyes, it can be crying, it can be jumping (Meaghan Duhamel is good at jumping),laughing, it can even be a coach completely overwhelmed (and in the case of Bruno and Aliona, the coaches were pretty emotional themselves which was also moving to watch), or any wonderful, explicit, reaction to a score or a placement. Get it on! Oh, and yes, here's the link to the popping eyes:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9zu2fUX2xw It's with German commentary, and you'll have to watch the programme first (but that's no punishment), but once you're in the K&C...Yay!

4cc 2016... the return of the great Patrick Chan at 4cc

here after the skate

then the famous KnC moments....

KJ had just told him how proud of him she was...

then the score comes up.. it's big... Patrick smiles and double fist pumps...

KJ looks with a WOW look in her eyes...

and they hug and Patrick says : I won

She turns around points at the scoreboard and screams...

I will remember this all my life because I had stayed up with a bottle of wine to watch it... and pretty much fell asleep and woke up just in time for Patrick at around 3am... Right after he finished, I went to bed... the next morning, I felt it had been a dream.. and I went to CBC website to check the news to see if it had really happened ;)

PS I miss you Chiddy!

The ultimate all time "make me cry at the end-of-a-skate and KnC reaction"

Rudy Galindo fights back from losing his brother to AIDS, his father, from never medaling as a singles skater, to winning US Nats at age 27 (ETA; 26, in his seventh Nats) with his epic Swan Lake.

And his epic reaction

I remember this...it always makes me cry, whenever i watch. Yeah, like the popping eyes but even more moving. One of my favourite skates ever, and that reaction. For good reason, and that's what makes it so moving. Sniff. Just say 1996, and I'm thinking of this, the skate and then the reaction. Shivers.

Probably the first one that came to mind when I saw the the thread title and OP:

First elated at the segment score/placement then thrilled with the overall placement. A dream come true for Sarah Meier at her last competition, in her home country.

Love the almost synchronized eye popping from Anna/Luca and then Anna breaking down in tears after realizing they did enough to beat the two teams that placed ahead of them at the Olympics and guaranteed at least a silver medal.

Romain Haguenauer has had some fantastic reactions to Gabriella and Guillaume's scores. He always looks like he's going to be terribly restrained and buttoned-up and then the instant the numbers come in all restraint flies to the winds! I think my favorite is his reaction to their FD score at 2016 Worlds.

Got to be Javi's 2015 Worlds win - both the fact that it took him so long to realise he'd won and the adorably funny 'goat noises': https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6gOwnG8Nds It got even better when Yuzu and Brian, at Yuzu's 2015 NHK explosion, mimicked it together (I have that as a gif sorry, don't know if it's on youtube)

Speaking of Yuzu (did you really think I wouldn't?), both his and the official lady's reaction to his Olympic short program in 2014 were priceless, the way Yuzu tries right after the first outburst to calm down and be cool... and after the free, when he realised he was first and again tries to calm down is adorable: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxeJfqQhZYw

And a little bit off topic, but a commentator's reaction? - because I just love when Yuzu's very first world record was announced at Skate America, 2012? - Kurt Browning's remarkably prescient reaction "you're seventeen, what are you gonna do?" always makes me smile now we all know the answer (it's the first one on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHF2sLbI7D4
