Tracy Wilson's reaction to Jason Brown's Russian split jump after a hydroblade in his 2016 NHK SPhttps://youtu.be/aFHQ0JoGkNE: "Oh my goodness! It's moves like that though Ryan [Bradley, her Universal co-commentator] that take your breath away, coming from nowhere. Never takes the easy path choreographically." And now she is one of his coaches.☺

ETA: Ryan's reaction was "Wow!"

Johnny throwing shade at Yulia Lipnitskaya’s jump texhnique at the 2014 GPF.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2weCSnVcKI

Johnny: She didn’t take enough time reaching back there on the triple flip to get a solid springboard. Yulia is one of those skaters that very much does love a donkey kick into some of these jumps.
Tara: *chuckles* Did you just say donkey kick Johnny?
Johnny: I did because that’s what it is look at the flip here, donkey kick... and just doubling out there...

In '98 Nagano Olympics, Chen Lu skated a beautiful SP. Sure, she had a tendency to UR jumps, but getting a 4.9 was ridiculous. Chris and Simon said that judge "should get spanked." :laugh2:

Lady commentator (don't know who, sorry. :slink:) 1:40: 3Lz1L3Sal. "That was special"; 4:22: long spiral. "L-O-V-E-L-Y!!"; 5:16: "I have to say I could watch him skate all day long. Love his soulfulness, his understatement..."
She said it for me..

Another beauty from PyeongChang 2018: Hungarian commentary on Yuzu's SP (M4 Sport)

"Incredible number of Poohs on the ice... By the way: One judge has been hit by a Pooh bear. Fortunately it's made of plush."
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

#Sidenote: Pooh's Hungarian name is 'Micimackó'. That made it sound even funnier :laugh2:

The video is blocked by the IOC on YouTube now, but in Vancouver after Mirai skated the B.Eurosport commentators were convinced Mirai had won the bronze medal ahead of Joannie (despite Joanie’s lead/the games being in Canada).

I believe it went like this:

“Nagasu may have just ruined the story”
“I cannot believe it we thought we saw the best and now she showed she could be on the podium!”

Right now I remember when Tara and Johnny went dead silent for an entire program. I think it was Yuzuru'd 2017 FS. It was blissful.

Beautiful words from CBC after Weaver/Poje's 2013 WC FD, their first competition back after Kaitlyn fractured her left fibula:

Brenda: What an emotional performance by Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje. This is a team, Kurt and Tracy, that wasn't even supposed to be here. The doctors said... they didn't think it was possible.

Tracy: Well, when you're skating with a... hunky man like that, anything's possible, I have to say. This guy, I think has been such a source of strength for Kaitlyn through this; such a fine partner and together they have made it happen.

...

Kurt: Could it be that sometimes the recovery from an injury will make you actually stronger; Kaitlyn looks physically stronger to me.

Tracy: And she has more of a sense of purpose and you see there's no doubt. I think clearly she was focused on the triumph of being here. Wonderful choreography...

Kurt: Defying gravity...

Tracy: Pasquale Camerlengo, Anjelika Krylova: their coaches. Look at that...look at that moment, look at that face.

Just by how wrong the commentators were about Savchenko/Szolkowy in Skate Canada 2005:
"It's unlikely they will get the PCS they need"
"They came in tonight leading, wanting gold, but it's not going to be theirs, it looks like".
Result: Savchenko/Szolkowy won Skate Canada.

The British Eurosport guys gushing over Shoma's performances are some of my favorite pieces of commentary, but their commentary from the 2015 GPF stood out to me because they were so awestruck by his talent.

https://youtu.be/WR61fneAuQg?t=5m24s

Here they are again getting "goose pimples" from Queen Yuna's return to the world stage at the 2013 Worlds:

My favorite piece of commentary is actually from a language that I don't even speak. During Yuzu's LP at the 2018 Olympics, a CCTV commentator commented, 'Fate said to the warrior: 'You cannot stand against the storm'. The warrior replied, in a low voice, 'I am the storm,' and it just fits so perfectly especially after all the obstacles that Yuzu has had to overcome prior to Pyeongchang.
