I sometimes wonder...he was born in the ordinary family and then why can he be so noble and elegant? I have no words.

Yeah, I always thought we need special lessons for how to act properly in traditional clothes!

OT: hugs to all Japanese soccer fans this morning... :sad4:

His father was a high-school teacher and now head-master, right? Maybe sound strange but in my country we don't say that teachers have a job in education but a job in culture. We always attribute them with deep knowledge on the culture, humanity and history of not only of their own country but the world. Subsequently, their children are always expected to be some role models at school. So, it is not unexpected for me to see this elegance and manner from someone raised in such a family.

So I don't know how many of you guys in here are in the US and have cable, but NBC offers the Olympics in 4K On Demand (though you need a 4k tv and 4k cable box) and it turns out for the 4k broadcast they have completely different commentary AND different camera angles! A lot made it feel like you were on the ice (if you have a really big tv, lol)! Charlie White was commentating and he is just so wonderful! I wish we could have him all the time. It's so clear how much he admires and respects Yuzu. He wouldn't shut up about him through the broadcast :luv17::luv17::luv17:. And they posed the GOAT question and Charlie said "it's an easy argument to make because he's proven himself time and time again and this, when it matters most, he was able to do exactly what he needed to do when he needed to do it". I'm trying to figure out how I can capture this before the On-Demand expires (I imagine the file will be massive), but if I can I hope to post!

Please do thank you for being thoughtful.

I need to immediately dig up Yuzu's first NHK win. So, so cute. And he completely ran out of steam at the end of his LP.

Kaori Kishitani (female singer from Fantasy on Ice 2018) Shares her memories of the shows.
"Unknown World"
I'm going to translate a little bit she wrote about Yuzu. (Usual disclaimers apply)

-And the king, Yuzuru Hanyu-kun would come to a certain part of the rink every day, sit, and while eating would watch the sound check. At times, when 'diamond' or 'first in the world' (referring to the lyrics) would come he would ascertain the choreography and comeback to himself and continue eating.
Since he was the only skater to watch the sound check, I asked him about it and he said he wanted to get an impression of the musicians that day!
Certainly, it must be different from yesterday, he must be listening to today's sound and letting it sink into his body, I thought. Not the Choreography, but the rhythm (?) of the music, the points at which my body is expressing the rhythm, those points Hanyu also senses and over and over again I've seen him skate it. I see, that is why he is Hanyu-kun.
I've seen Hanyu-kun's performances many times on TV but, of course, seeing it live, like one dried leaf dancing in the wind, or a crane unfurling its wings, or an ephemeral sprite, really beautiful!
My daughter saw (Hanyu) live, and said it was the most beautiful movement in the world, and after that day watches his videos daily on youtube. But I understand those feelings! it's exactly like that!
And the World Champion was a wonderful human as well. How do you raise such a wonderful son? I asked his mother who was next to him, in my heart many times.

So after rewatching Haru yo Koi for who knows how many times... In my head, I see a budding flower after the rain and I see Yuzu as a character running around in nature, celebrating how the sky has cleared and the coming for spring.

Ok maybe I've been seeing too much fantasy/Disney/anime stuff around me lately
