Potentially Fun thread

Okay, so you're watching a skater's program and you have already memorized the entire layout including every second of choreography, transitions, movement, arm positions, etc. But then something unexpected happens during the performance. No, I'm not talking about a stumble, bobble, fall, step-out or other mistake. This is more about moments that were not choreographed before hand that the skater decided to add on the fly or a change in the program that you didn't see coming. Here are some illustrative examples:

Scott Moir Roaring (Unexpected Sound) - WC2013 FD: https://youtu.be/o1Oa39Uojj0?t=105

Mao Asada Tano (Unexpected Arm Variation) - WC2016 FS: https://youtu.be/SLLYcIi1qcc?t=193

Carolina Kostner Spin Improv (Unexpected Arm Position) - WC2013 FS: https://youtu.be/7a1pjiFs4HE?t=196
*Note Carolina was dealing with a nose bleed before the performance and therefore she is pinching her nose here.

Kaitlyn Weaver's Hair (Unexpected Hairstyle Transition) - WC2011 SD:

*I think Kaitlyn's bun just was loose and came apart but it is perfectly timed with the music.

Christopher Bowman's second half of his LP at 1990 Worlds was *all* unexpected. The skate in and of itself is pure "Bowman the Showman"

with Scott Hamilton's immortal words "He throws in a triple toe loop for an absolutely unknown reason" :laugh2:

and Chris with Frank Carroll in the KnC, "Well, I went for it" and "You're all head and no heart".

A great talent. You couldn't have paid me enough money to coach him.

Two things, neither of which really fit the description but sorta do.

1. Kaori waving to the crowd in her Amelie program and one of the ladies in the audience waving back. Not sure what comp it was at.

2. Daria Penankova(sp) and her lipstick choreo. It was so weird and out of place and IMO not appropriate for a Junior lady.

For Aliona and Bruno, they changed their ending pose for their FS at I believe every single event during the season until they have found the right one, at the Olympics. So it wasn't an unexpected change but more so that they managed to finally create a beautiful statuesque ending to follow their spectacular lift and one worthy to conclude their masterpiece program:

I am not sure, but he might blew one also at Milan Worlds towards my sector before step sequence or it was just pointing gesture towards us (and we went rightfully crazy:laugh:)

Wow I was there but didn't notice! I would have died even if he was "just pointing" at my direction

Virtue/ Moir - Ina Bauer/Spiral Combo at 2018 Nats FD (Unexpected combo of moves in the field): https://youtu.be/hO2xBr5EmSo?t=247

I knew they were changing the second half of their MR FD but didn't expect them to incorporate this move (I think it's a new move from them). Probably my favourite change, more unexpected than the change in choreo lift, and it's placed perfectly with the music to create an uplifting highlight.

Yes they did but I meant that they had differing ending poses for each competition until the Olympics (where they found the right one) and settled on that one to use for Worlds as well. :) Great to see that ending pose cap off their two best career performances.
